WOW - I knew there was a wealth of talent at this year’s fest, but look at that! When am I supposed to take a break??

I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I will say it again but…fantastic lineup!

It’s going to be impossible to pick a favorite day but I am REALLY! excited for sunday! FFFFFFFEESSSSSSSTTTTIIIIIIIVVVVVAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!
One can never have enough Darrell Scott in a day!
:flower :flower :flower :flower :love :oconnor :band :band :band :hombre :hop :headphones :dancing :strong :giggle :deer

This will be your first time seeing Darrell, won’t it? He was the first artist I ever saw play on that stage. It’s been too long since I’ve last seen him. Also, check out Friday. What’s going to happen once we get the workshop schedule? I don’t see many sets I’d be willing to miss.

It’s a killer. Who can I miss? Nobody! But I’ll have to miss something…I weep already :lol

Take a break? What you talkin’ about, ZA. Holy crap, this is going to be fine! Looking at it all stacked up nice really puts TBF "11 in :festival Festivaaaaaaal perspective! Wow, thanks again PB!
The auto-pilot better be finely tuned for the solstice week this year…

Okay, here’s the plan. :evil This is going to seem like “festi-hell”, but it’s THE ONLY WAY to make it all work this year (takes a deep breath and exhales slowly).

We’ll have to put the plan into action on Wednesday morning, okay, between noon and 1 pm MT if you insist, but no later because Rumballs, the Pot-Luck, FirstGrass and Yonder’s kick off show will, heck, they’ll kick off before you know it!.

The campsites need to be cleaned up, packed up and ready to move out as if it were already Monday morning. If your car is parked anywhere near your camping spot, deposit any and all things no longer needed on a daily basis, i.e., dirty clothing, those camp stoves, extra EZ-Up’s, all that crap. Now, condense the coolers down to one, maybe a second one for… no, nevermind, you don’t need cold drinks, you’ll be on the festival field during the heat of the day and the water is FREE inside the festival. Just dump the extra cooler while you still have time, unless of course, you need it for the dirty laundry, but whatever…

Now, how much food do you really need in camp? Late night snacks and breakfast. Doing the Tarp Run for your group? Don’t eat breakfast. :hooch That’s your only warning on that particular subject. I figure if we start saving a buck a day right now just for food from the vendors and get a few of those energy/breakfast/granola/cardboard bars, that amount of food along with the Fat Tire or Pale Ale should just about get us through all four days. Now, if you get NightGrass tickets in one form or the other you’ll need something in the order of 4 Snicker’s Candy Bars to (eat) get you up the hill from the festi-field to the music venue of your choice that evening. For you Newbies, it’s an up hill climb after dancing all day.

Basically, if we get things like these done on Wednesday, there’s no problem being on the festi-field for the duration, and when Robert Plant, (who will more than likely be prodded by Sammy Bush no doubt) asks, “WHO’S BEEN AT THE FESTIVAL ALL 4 DAYS”, well… for once we’ll know that we haven’t miss even one sweet ass minute of this AMAZING LINE-UP that The Planet Bluegrass Folks have magically planned and put into action for 2011.

:cheers

love it, Love It… LOVE IT!!!

Tow Words… EAR PLUGS!!!

Hey! Maybe the kids will surprise you and will also get with the “no sleep and just fine with that plan” this go 'round! yeah, I know… I’ll keep my fingers crossed too! :lol :lol :lol

Some tough calls this year! :thumbsup

Man, this is going to be intense! I’m getting a nice TBF preview tonight with some Trampled by Turtles, this will only make my mouth water for June!!!

I don’t know why I’m trying to leave a comment at this point because I’m just about speechless. I’m trying to get my head around this line-up and apparently I don’t have the intellectual capacity to do so. All I can say is WOW. I hope the Night Grass annoucements don’t come out too soon because I think that might make my head explode.

The sun is heading north, toward spring, meaning we are on our way to the solstice, and another long weekend of no sleep at either end of the day. I look at the lineup and think of the years when I have gone back to camp to rearrange my clothes, warmer, cooler, hot and cold, oops, music starting and its time to go, living on the banks of the San Miguel. I like the way we plan the day to catch each ray of sound and sun, its too much fun and ending with the Band of Joy, oh boy!

Seriously, when are we supposed to have time to do things like eat, use the porta-pots, or wander town with a lineup like that? Way to screw up Planet Bluegrass! Can’t you fit in an “artist” like Britney Spears so can all catch a little break during the day? Also, I would like to request a change to the festival rules to allow us to cook bacon on our tarps. I believe that’s an inalienable festivarian right given to us by an unspecified non-party affiliated deity and/or karma!! Amen.

Holy crap…ho-ly crap! Friday FTW! :cheers

This really is one of the best line ups I’ve ever seen. The grand prize either has to go to this or the 35th. When am I going to sleep? With a line up like that, I’ll be in the festival grounds from sun up till well after sun down. Hot Damn! PBG, you never cease to amaze. :cheers

I always thought the 35th would be the best line up ever, but I just can’t see this lineup ever being topped.

Question: It says Bela Fleck & the Flecktones (original lineup). Does that mean Jeff Coffin won’t be playing? Or has there been a new incarnation I’m not aware of??

Cheers to Planet Bluegrass for a well rounded festival lineup.

:cheers

It looks like the House Band is capping Thursday off, I kind of like that. The past two years the performance has been bittersweet, because it is great music and it wraps the whole thing up nicely, but at the same time there’s that thought in the back of your head like, I have to wake up and get ready to go tomorrow and I don’t want to leave yet! making it difficult to let the music sink in. It will be a nice change of pace. I’m looking forward to this year, nothing in life can compare to this experience and I hope it will continue for years to come.

The original line up of the Flecktones is without Jeff Coffin, but includes Howard Levy (I think that’s how you spell it).

So… um… workshops? How are we going to decide which ones to go to? I hope I don’t have to make any difficult decisions.

Just think, if that Buffalo Springfield thing had worked out, I can almost guarantee you the lineup would have topped this.
