Colorado's wildlife

I am wildlife lover and wondered what I might get to see in Colorado while hopefully at RG Fest :bat :deer :fish

I like animals of all kinds but would love to see an eagle or two in their natural habitat. Can anyone tell me if they would be any in the area and that’s assuming the bluegrass blasting hasn’t scared 'em away ? :eek

Hi! I definitely saw a bald eagle last year during a set . . . I think I had to use a camera to zoom it, but I saw it!

You can always drive up to Estes Park and check out Rocky Mountain National Park. All the Colorado wildlife you’ll ever need!

Thanx Maineahhh and Doc Mike for the info :flower

I rather hoped to see an eagle soaring overhead and I checked out the Estes Park online to see something about the arrival of the hummingbirds and it would be awesome to see birds at either end of the size scale. :thumbsup

Knowing my luck a Bald Eagle would land on my head, or worse. :eek :lol :lol

I’m not safe round guy ropes and tents either… You have been warned! :lol :lol :angel

Good thing we’re in a hard shell trailer!

And? You have tubes for gas bottles etc on the outside don’t you? :lol :eek :thumbsup

Trust me Doc Mike, nothing’s safe! :eek

Joke :lol

How do you identify a bald eagle?

All his feathers are combed over to one side.

You wouldn’t be saying that to it’s face…not if you saw how big the talons are close up! lol :frowning: :lol

I need a shelter for my shelter!

hmmmm. I think mostly no. Mostly because It is always good practice when camping. But that said, nobody at Rocky grass does, so I would think unless you are on very end, the bear would eat everyone else’s food first.

As long as bears don’t concidered us as fast food …all wrapped up in a sleeping bag like a big sausage in a bun :bag

Several years ago a couple mountain goats came down the hill side and watch about an hour of the show abot 9pm one night, then hoped back over the top of the mountain and disappeared. They stood mabey 150 ft above the stage, close enough to see what they were looking at.

Last year a dear came out of the side stage and ran past the sound engineers and down the center isle of the festival and exited the back somewhere along the river.

I’d better keep my eyes open and camera at the ready as I’d quite like to get some photos of animals in the wild. The inquisitive goats would have been perfect. As for the deer, I bet that caused some merriment :lol

The deer didn’t look to happy to be there but the people loved it.
