I know we’re 6 months out but I’m starting to plan our trip west and I was wondering what you vets feel are camping necessities for our spot in Town Park.
All your winter clothes, all your summer clothes, a lampshade, sunscreen, etc. The list is extensive (and possibly bizarre). Actually, I believe there is a thread of camping “must-haves” somewhere on here. I’ll see if I can find it and bump it to the top for you.
Magically appears lit every time he gets a good idea…or he gets good ideas when he gets lit, something like that…
Back to topic- while not necessities, some of the things you bring will depend on how long you’re there and your gear capacity. If you’re there longer- bikes, hiking gear, camp kitchen stuff are options. To update the list a little, a laptop or tablet might be useful since campground has Wi-Fi and flashlights should probably be led headlamps. There’s no open fires or wood burning allowed, so most things run on propane, though charcoal is allowed as long as fire restrictions don’t prohibit that.
If short duration, field food is very good and you can walk/shuttle into town for food/meals and survive on those very easily. Necessities would be gear that keeps you warm, dry and lets you sleep occasionally since temps can get into the 30s at night.

This should be enough since you are camping with Bevin & Company. Of course, bring your helping hands! :flower
