:wave I hope all of you are having a great winter/spring :hop
Please check in here and let us know if:
a: you have your tickets or need them
b: you will be camping up on the hill where we do do the boogie
c: will be making the crew a meal during festival
We still have needs for one or two dinners and three or four breakfasts. Hooch is buying ALL of the bacon this year :flower
It will be an obscene pile of bacon. We can only hope I maintain the willpower to not roll around in it while naked. And I’m currently working on a way to utilize the leftover bacon grease to power our camp because I got inspired last night by watching Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.
ANy idea on the tonnage this year Hooch- so I can see if I can get a deal…or does it mean that saying " you are buying all the bacon this year"- you have another source and we’re not using Beeler’s?
Hi Debbie! We are DEFINITELY using Beelers, so will get you tonnage & flavors soon. The biggest question will be if you guys can handle hauling our order (plus other camp’s orders) or do we need to ship it directly to Telluride. Also I may have to buy a new cooler to store it all since I know we’ve hogged one of your coolers in previous years.
Also, let me give my own personal endorsement of Beelers bacon: YUM! If anyone is planning to crank out serious bacon volume (like you should ALL be doing) then consider going through Debbie and buying Beeler’s (personal friends of theirs). You can find them on the web here: Beeler’s. We’ve used them for the past 2 or 3 years and have been very happy with the bacon as well as their willingness to make specialty arrangements to ship to us.
Any thoughts on how many people will be eating dinner on the 11th? I’m thinking about making my parsley citrus pork tenderloin - bad boy will be marinating for 48 hours before we chow.
Ok, put me down for providing pork tenderloin on Saturday. One thing that concerns me is that the pork is best cooked over indirect heat where the flame is at least 4 inches below the grate. I can’t recall if you have something like that.
In addition to me, two friends will also be camping in da Muck: Greg (aka the Bagger) and Kris (who camped in Totally Lit with me last year, and whom Hooch has dubbed Goliath in light of his 6’ 8" frame)
I will be camping on the hill - with my son, et al…
Happily will do a breakfast (pre-fest) and a dinner anytime - let me know what the needs are.
a. Breakfast = yogurt, granola, fruit, bacon and coffee…
b. Dinner = kabobs → chicken, beef, veggies…
i have my tix, just not sure i can make it yet. but if i do, i will be happy to cook my world famous grits (experienced by some at rg & pagosa!). mel, if i can’t make it you’re first in line for my tix :flower
Ken & Allison have tickets for TP. Were bringing the extended family for an overdue introduction to where we disappear to for a week in June, hoping they will catch the spirit and want to continue coming with us every year, especially the grandmothers aka babysitters extraordinaire since we are bringing the boys too!
We are down for cooking. It will be our first, so, a little guidance on what to bring from Phoenix is very welcome. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, whatever hole needs to be plugged, we’ll make it happen.
Were arriving late on Monday and I plan to spend Tuesday on whatever needs to be done to finish setup @ RAM.
Were going to set up an small nappytime tent adjacent to RAM if there is space, but were condo-ing this year. Let us know if/when a shower is in order.
I’m also going to set up a large tent inside the grounds in front of RAM. My cousin who works for New Belgium may have a good supply of tokens, so drop by!
Our 2 extra TP tix have been distributed by Hippie, but we are still looking for qty 4 (Grandparents) 4 day concert only passes.
I began work on the 2011 TBF / RAM glass, and if I can pull it off, it’s going to be a collectors piece for sure…planning on bringing at least 35 of them, so find me as soon as you can
Ken I will be bringing the rocking chairs for camp so feel free to use them to rock the boyz at nap time. They have been known to rock some big boyz to sleep too, but it’s not milk in their bottles!
