Hello festivarians! :wave
So excited for June and my 11th TBF. This year we are bringing our baby girl who will be just about 7 months old when we head west to Telluride. Does anyone have any advice for us? I would love to know if there is any essentials (i.e. fan misters, wagons). Are noise reduction headphones necessary? Any tips for keeping baby happy and warm at night? I’m going to attempt to be as prepard as possible for all weather. I’d sure hate to miss Sam Bush Band Saturday night :cheers
Thanks in advance festivarians! Looking forward to seeing you all in June :flower
I don’t know about TBF, but I’ve taken babies and toddlers to many fests. Get a Kelty backpack carrier, one that can stand on its one as a seat too. I’d suggest noise cancelling phones for any concert event with a little one, or be sure to be far from sound source. If your going uber prepared you might want to bring a large stroller in addition to a backpack carrier, then you can easily haul all your baby items. sunblock!!!
When my boys were small, we would bring a small tent ( bought at walmart) and set on the tarp with us… worked for a napping place and somewhere for them to play… we used at night too… tuck them in with lots of blankets…but if you are doing that bring glow in dark toys or brackets to hang on tent so it’s visible to dancers and such
Headphones are a must although the first aid tent does have cotton to stick in their ears

Bring baby food and diapers!
I brought my daughter at almost 2, almost 4, and will bring her again at almost 6. I’d recommend the wagon, depending on how much you’ll be walking. If in town, it’s just super handy. We started w the all terrain Radio Flyer (which breaks down) but moved to one of the folding wagons this year. I found the wagon super helpful, but moreso and especially when she was older and could walk on her own.
I also agree about the small tent, and we even set up a shade tent at the back the first year and will again this year; we regretted not doing it in '15. You’re always welcome to come back for shade if you don’t want to bring your own … PM me if you’re serious about knowing where we’re set up. It’s just a lot of sun for a little kid (as evidenced by the fact that it’s a lot of sun for me as a grown up!)
Ours was about the same age the first time we took her. The headphones/ear muffs were a saving grace, we were up by the stage during Trampled By Turtles and she slept through it all. A baby carrier was a blessing as well, I was able to “wear” her when she got fussy and just wanted to be held (so we didn’t have to miss Sam Bush) We didn’t have a wagon, we just used our stroller but a wagon would have been easier. Don’t forget things to keep the little one busy, luckily we were with a group of parents that knew that and had enough toys to go around. Food, hydration, sunscreen and a hat. Clothing, layers… it was really warm during the day, she had shorts and a tank top on and as soon as the sun went down she needed to be bundled. Hope that helps, we had a blast and didn’t have any major issues taking a 7 month old. Little mittens or gloves will be handy too.
