is bridal veil falls in walking distance from the town? if so how long would it take to get there?
Sure it is. It isn’t a stroll in the park, if you start in town it’s a pretty serious hike. Will probably take a flatlander all day. If you are used to hiking between 8 and 10k feet above sea level it’s comfortable, if you aren’t used to hiking in elevation you may want to drive part way up.
we drove up to the generator building gate just beyond bridal veil falls early this morning, in a subaru … didn’t need much clearance, the road is in decent shape …
on our way down around 9:00am the road was blocked by sawhorses near the large pools of delicious looking green water near the large building a mile or so beyond Town Park … large construction vehicles were w*rking on the road above …
you could walk up from those sawhorses to bridal veil falls within a couple hours … enjoy the views !
we might head up and check out the Krogerata Tuesday or Wednesday …

It definitely depends on your experience with altitude and your overall physical condition. My friends and I hiked from town to the falls and back in about 3-4 hours, but we were moving quickly and the only real breaks we took were for quick pictures and at Bridal Veil (We went on Friday morning and didn’t want to miss too much of the festival). It is just a series of switchbacks all the way up once you get out of the town, but the views are spectacular. I definitely recommend it if you have some extra time on your hands.
