Hi all,
Been a long time attendee of New York’s Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival but my husband and I are packing up our gear and heading out west! Very excited but also very over whelming. We are flying into Montrose on Thursday night and will be staying at Mary E. Ilium campground for the festival. We land at 7:30 pm and we’re thinking we should just get a hotel in Montrose or Ridgeway for the night so we’re not setting up camp in the dark. Does this make sense or should we go for it and head straight to the campground? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. We love to camp but never have camped across the country and had to check/ship camping equipment.
Thanks! Can’t wait!

are you renting a car at airport or taking shuttle bus/van to telluride?
You could get to your campground but will be close to night/night
so you could set up minimally for the night, they will be others with “light”
and helping hands…
If you stay in Ridgeway for the night you may try Orvis hot springs, close to Rway
happy trails…
We will be renting a car at the airport. Want to get in as much scenery as we can - we will also be driving to Denver after the festival to visit with friends and family. It probably makes the most sense to just stay in a hotel for the first night - I’m sure most people will be at the festival by the time we get to the campground. Will be in CO for a full week so if there is anything that we need to see or do while we’re here let us know!
Thanks for your help!
