Bob Weir et al.

I couldn’t make the festival but am a little curious as to how the Bob Weir thing went.

The show is up on http://bt.cotapers.org/

I had a grand old time and enjoyed it immensely. I heard some folks weren’t as into it. You should give it a listen and decide for yourself I think.

I also posted my recording of the show at The Trader’s Den: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=93145

Enjoy!

For me, it was a fabulous, fabulous show. To hear all my Dead favorites acoustically with three such amazing guys was something else. Not any talking, just going from one song to the next. I was in a great place for sound and it was good. I think it could have been better. Maybe they brought their own sound man. PB’s sound cannot be improved on and it amuses me to see their engineer standing back watching some at his board. I heard a lot of people who didn’t like it but I guess they were not Dead fans. But even the people who were not familiar with all the Dead music on our tarp loved this show. I have listened to the tape and though I enjoy hearing it again, the show was much much better.

The same thing happens in Telluride. The bands that insist on their own sound guy almost always blow it out too much, and get echo off the far canyon wall interfering with the sound. They never do a better job than the PB crew!

Yep, this is so true. :medal

after listening to this show, i just have to say…

i think the bobby, chris robinson, and jacky greene trio is awesome!

and the tape i heard was recorded wonderfully :tapers
