Biking from Illium to any destination would be comparable to doing the Tour De France at 10,000 feet and not recommended. The trail would be difficult and the road impossible. :eek
Getting around town from the festival is another story and can be a great way to see things. :flower
Your best bet would be to bring your bike into town ONCE, lock it up each day, and use it when the desire hits. Then before going home pick it up. :thumbsup
It is nice to have my bike :thumbsup to ride around town and on the trails during pre-fest, but if I was coming in Wednesday and leaving Monday, I would leave it home. Unless you’re gonna skip music for a ride that is. My bike tends to sit during Festivaaaal!
Thx to all, If this was not my FIRST TBF, I would be running the San Juan Solstice 50 miler in Lake City (friday and saturday). SO…I may just bring the bike and get a workout. Thx again all
Yikes! :eek Yes, wow, sounds like you should bring your bike…and yes, CL, you now know the truth as to why why I don’t ride my bike much during festivaaaaal!
:dance :dancing :horsey :hop :woohoo
Although my bike was seldom used it was an essential piece of equipment when my ice chest needed emergency life support with a run to the liquor store. :lovedr :drunk
I’ve taken my bike everytime and biked the path - during the day and at night. Perfect. Fun. Great way to travel back and forth. Mountain bike. I’ve also riden the road and it’s fine. Take your bike for sure!
I think the thing to do is take a bike into town and lock it up while you are still allowed to drive there. Then pick it up Monday morning on the way out. That way you have it there if you want it. There is nothing to bike to from Illium-you cannot ride a bicycle on the paved road into town so you have to go up and over a large hill which seems to take forever and you won’t want to ride back, especially after the show.
