Hi,
We’re plannning to catch the train to Grand Junction from Denver. Is anyone familiar with the best service (besides car rental) to get to Telluride from Grand Junction?
Hey, I live in Grand Junction. There is an Enterprise rent-a-car within just a few blocks of the train station. Otherwise there are a LOT of people who pass through Grand Junction on the way to the festival.
:wave might I suggest you post on the ride section of this forum… You might just score a great ride, meet some really cool festivarians, save some dough, and keep your carbon footprint small. Once you get to festival the expense of a rental car will be wasted cause you won’t need it until the festival is over.
There is a great thread for what to bring somewhere in here, maybe our kind moderators will give it a bump for you.
Spoke with the folks at Telluride Express, the website was down earlier today but up now. Round trip from Montrose is $100 per person. Well worth it to avoid the rental and hassle of a car.
I rented a car at the Denver airport my first year and basically paid for it to sit along side the road unused for a week. Not worth it… I echo the previous sentiment in finding someone to share a ride with, its much cheaper and always nice to make new friends.
