Please book Jeff Scroggins and Colorado the RG 2014! :cheers :medal :thumbsup This band is one of the most fun, talented, friendly and easily listenable acts you'll find anywhere. And you can find them right there in Lyons. Let's see 'em on the RockyGrass stage next July. Please!
Yes and their last album “Western Branches” is fantastic.
New Riders Of the Purple Sage :cheers

Dolly would rock the house. She can send a Bluegrass shrills through your body :medal
No offense, but I’d rather have RockyGrass stick to true Bluegrass as much as possible. They already have their extreme divergences from the traditional sound. We already have Telluride for the non-bluegrass Bluegrass festival.
Why no offense taken, thank you. My ears need a jolt from the mando, banjo combinations however and to inject a lil something something in there that doesn’t exactly fit works well to keep the crowds attention after time. Ferg is known for doing that and lets just say I like to entertain that part of his brain DWEEEEEZEL ZAPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! :flower
Hmmm... I love Bluegrass and I don't get tired of hearing it or the instruments that are used to make it. For the three days per year of RockyGrass I never find myself wishing for "something different" or a different style of music. I guess people who don't know what Bluegrass really is probably get tired of the terrible noise that a mandolin and banjo make and need to go listen to Bieber back at their campsite. :huh
I want RockyGrass to remain a Bluegrass festival. I don't think it needs any clowns onstage playing dub-step or hip-hop. Look at it this way: there aren't a lot of Bluegrass musicians making a ton of money and playing gigs at every venue in the world. Bluegrass is a small slice of music in a big world. Why nudge a Bluegrass band off stage (at a Bluegrass festival) in favor of someone playing a completely different style of music? :thumbsup
Every year I hear a lot of people complain when non-Bluegrass bands are on stage. Most people want more Bluegrass. I suppose there are plenty who just want music and don't care what kind it is. There are certainly plenty of people who just want food and don't care what kind it is or how well it's made, which is why fast food chains stay in business. I don't like fast-food music. I like Bluegrass.
I like Bluegrass, yes indeedy’ Traditional is the best. But yes after a few hours it is always nice to inject something to wake up your ears. Fresh ears. No offense to you but yes I do prefer something, something injected in there or all the runs meld together and sound the same after awhile.
Ever hear the term, Pace yourself? :lol I for one never try to miss one set, now if you float in and out of fest and its just background for some I can see how you would disagree. Power to the people brother and Amen to dat! :cheers
I was told that Rhonda Vincent was a Deva last time I requested her. I say, deal. She would rock the house. :medal
