Hi, my group wants to post a flag on our tarp so that we can find each other. Are flags allowed in the festival? Is there a size limit? Thanks in advance.
There’s some unwritten rules to be a good festivarian, most folks fly fairly small flags, and they have them on really long poles so not to obstruct views.

What kind of poles, and where does one get them?
telescoping poles, designed for portable flag flying. Someone else should chime in, as I have never had one, but there’s usually a good 15-20 flying at festival.

Gerry the gnome flies high. He also has a custom welded base to keep him up there in high wind. He made it through the lightning evacuations last year. Don’t think there is a size limit but probably the biggest one I have seen is 2’x4’. Usually there are even smaller as to avoid blocking anyone’s view. I do highly recommend using one to find your group. Telescoping poles can be found online, definitely get a base for it.
