Advice for lodging with 12 year old son

I am very excited to be going to my first TBGF! I’ve wanted to go for many years. I’m even more excited to take my 12 year old son who’s in two bands and really into the guitar. I have a wrist band for Mary Ilium and I also booked a refundable condo about 25 min walk from the gondola in mountain village. I’m concerned both are going to be pretty far if he gets tired and wants to head back. I think I’ll have to go with him end up missing a lot of music if so. Anyone have any advice?
Do hotel rooms or condos open up with cancellations close to the festival?

So if youre staying at Mary, you could walk him to the shuttle cause it only goes the festival and camp ground. Now being up in mountain village, you will probably have to go with him. I would say make sure he gets an afternoon nap and learns how to hang late with the seasoned festival goers.

Better option would be to find a Town Park or Warner field ticket, and be on site at the festival. We took our son when he was 12, and he wasn’t too into the music, but he had the best time of his life, made a ton of friends, and I’ve never been anywhere else that I felt as comfortable and safe letting him run free.
