I’ve got over 50 videos uploaded from this year’s festival. I’m posting most of my videos in the Tapers’ Forum, along with my set lists, but if I don’t otherwise have a reason to post a set list, I’ll post videos here (i.e., someone already posted the Steve Martin set list).
There’s a phrase that I find myself repeating over and over again. It’s “only in Telluride”. There are certain things that can and will happen only in Telluride. The video link below is a fine example. It was taken at the Trampled by Turtles Nightgrass show on Thursday night at the Opera House. TBT was joined on stage by the Stringdusters toward the end of the second set (only in Telluride, right?). For the finale, they all climbed down into the middle of the floor and launched into an unplugged and joyous rendition of “The Weight”, with full crowd participation (only in Telluride, right?). I was fortunate enough to be sitting in the balcony to get this video. I apologize for the relatively poor quality, but it was low light and 2:00 in the morning.
Things have gotten way too quiet on the Forum these days, so I thought I’d better post something. Here is a link to a short video that’s a little on the creative side. It was taken through a sunshade, with just the sounds and silhouettes of Festivarians passing by as Emmylou and Rodney were introduced on Thursday night.
