Another crazy first Friday in December morning, but…Scored our 4! How did everybody do?
Does your order say “pending review” when you look at order history? I assume this means Planet Bluegrass will just review to see if peoplle abuse the system and exceed ticket limits? Keeping my fingers crossed that is the case since I haven’t gotten the official e-mail yet.
Mine also says Pending Review, I called the Planet and they said if you have an order number you have tickets…Looks like Stub Hub Score tickets
I think with the system crashing like it did and the liberal return policy people panicked to make sure all friends were accounted for and stocked up on tickets. Let’s hope the extra tickets end up back on the resale sight rather than in the hands of scalpers.
I got shut out :(. Was on the site at 9 and got ticket in my cart, but then stalled and couldn’t complete transaction. Had to get on again, and clicked to purchase a ticket, but then it said all tickets were in carts. Never was able to get a ticket from there.
This would be my 32nd TBF if I’m counting correctly – only have so many fingers and toes. If anyone ends up with an extra 4-day pass, please let me know!
Thanks,
Owen
I got my four Four Day Passes, but our friends in Durango ended up with four times four Single Day Passes (ouch!). We both got kicked out of the server with Four Day Passes in our carts. When our carts came back my passes were still there, hers were not. She had to start again and could only get single days. We will be eight on the tarp again this year. This is always one of the most stressful days of the year for me.
Owen, there is a resale period sometime in the late winter, early spring. A good handful of tickets always show up there. And the closer you get to the festival, more will pop up on the forum.
No need to worry.
Twenty minutes? It showed 4 day passes sold out at 9:04 on one of the two computers I was trying to get through on. I actually clicked the button exactly at 9:00 and got through the first few screens and when I clicked complete purchase, it worked on that for two minutes, and then showed my shopping cart with the tix still in it. But, my credit card showed a pending transaction and when I went to my account on the fest site I got the same Pending Review that others have gotten. It did have an order #, and if that means I have tix it’s all good. Another crazy morning. Start the countdown! Now we can all obsess over waiting for lineup announcements!
Festival!!!
9:04!? Wow- I started right at 8:00 (PT), got in OK, but could not move through the freezing and get confirmed until 8:18. Maybe it actually did sell out in 4 minutes, and my tix stayed in the queue for the whole 18 minutes. Crazy stuff- very psyched.
After 2 hours I finally get the “Approved” status
Does this mean since tickets are on sale the line up should be coming soon . I totally forgot about today . I just went on this forum and said DOH!! I’m hoping to find Town Park tickets . Never camped there but would love to . This will be my 9 year .
…went to the purchase page at 9:00:03 am, entered quantity, went to next page, entered card info, etc, clicked ‘Place Order’ … and waited … and waited …and then the ‘Place Order’ page returned. I re-entered the card number (other info was still all there), and clicked ‘Place Order’ again …and waited, and waited …and then received a “Server Unavailable” message screen.
By now it was 9:14 am and I figured the tickets are long gone. I went to the ‘My Account’ page … and my Shopping Cart had 2 tickets in it … I clicked the “Pay Now” or similar button, entered card info … and … received an order confirmation page. Shortly thereafter I received an email with the order # on it. Lucked out! … I then clicked the link to the Shop.bluegrass.com account and … lo and behold, there were TWO sets of tickets listed. Two different order numbers. Each order for 2 tickets (I was only ordering 1 pair). The odd thing is … I never received an email for the second ticket order (which I think was the ‘first’ one I sent when I was disconnected from the server). SO … when all’s said and done, I have an extra pair of tickets that I can return to PB and get a refund; or, wait until I receive the e-tickets and work with PB to transfer them to one of the folks here who missed out and then get the refund from PB.
It was quite the roller-coaster, to be sure.

I got mine. Has similar issues with it freezing, but shut down, came back in and they were in my cart and allowed me to purchase. Got my confirmation email.
2nd year for me. We hit lottery last year and was in Warner Field.
Fixed supply and increasing demand: This is the unfortunate result of so many knowing about the World’s Best Festival.
Sounds like a job for Lottery Man.
Last couple of years right before the festival there has been allot of passes for sale. I know it is a HUGE gamble…But There is usually people selling passes right around will-call. You never know, but there always seems to be last minute drop outs and people needing to get rid of an extra pass or two.
…and in the past few years, there have been lots of tickets for sale right near the box office, or via fliers posted on the Town Park shower billboard. That’s even MORE of a gamble, but I’ve seen both of those scenarios play out for the last 4 or 5 years.
I noticed a fair number of tickets for sale on secondary markets. We need to make quite a few plans to get to Telluride for the festival, and I’d like to get my tickets as soon as possible. Is it safe to buy tickets through the secondary sources?
Thanks
Brian
I’d avoid secondary markets if possible. Tickets will become available on this site as the festival draws closer.
DO NOT pay more than face value EVER. If we refuse to pay over face scalpers and scumbags will not buy tickets. This has worked for many of us for years.
Keep looking down in the ticket section, stay positive and you will find tickets.
Happy Festivating!

I know several people have had luck with Craig’s List, but I’ve never gotten tickets there. As The Lorax said, do not pay over face value for your tickets, period. Go ahead and make your arrangements to be there and the tickets will follow at face value. If you go ahead and buy tickets over face value now, you’ll be left kicking yourself when the tickets come pouring out in May for face (and sometimes even below).
