I was just thinking the same thing about the Thursday lineup…from the early morning til late at night, that’s a hell of a lineup and GREAT way to start the Festival. I figured GSBG would close out Friday again and was hoping someone other than Dispatch would close Saturday-Oh well, I’ll make it to Nightgrass on-time for once.
Looking forward to tuning into some artists I haven’t been exposed to. Too often, I spend so much time seeing the established artists that I’ve seen many times that I miss out on exposing myself to something new. Also, I can never get enough of Jack Casady’s bass and know he’ll groove really well with Dharma Peter Rowan!
Norah Jones sandwiched between Greensky Bluegrass and Punch Brothers!! That is going to be a perfect trifecta! Thanks Planet Bluegrass for helping us remember that there is a light at the end of the long winter tunnel. June will be here before we know it!
Line up looks great this year! I’m not super excited for Jason Mraz, but that just means I can get to bed early on the last night after a whirlwind weekend of amazing music!
Initial reaction: This year, some big $$ was spent on acts I don’t personally care for (Dispatch, Mraz, Norah Jones), but I’m really pumped about some of the up-and-comers, some of whom I’ve wanted to see for a while - Lindsay Lou, Rayland Baxter, Margo Price, Fruition. Excited to see Jack Casady on the lineup. Looking forward to Nightgrass and Elks Park lineups - there’s lots of potential there for sure. Plus, it’s Telluride - one of the greatest of places, and a fact I think I’ve unfortunately learned to take for granted. Lineup is only part of the equation. :cheers See you in June!
Wow, there are some great additions here! People I have never seen, am happily researching - Lindsay Lou, The Cleverlys, Margot Price , Freddy and Francine - so many amazing artists. I love Frutition. Your country abounds in talent.
Ok, all ready for GSBG Nightgrass chase now cause that is the one thing that we cannot miss. We are on the starting blocks…are we ready campers? The Aussies are coming. Cannot wait to see you all again. Summer of love indeed
ER has really evolved as a band, saw them early on and thought they were okay but that Bonnie was carrying too much of the load, each time I have seen them since, it has been a better balanced band with richer sounds.
Lindsay Lou is another good youngish act.
Norah Jones is a head scratcher to me. I don’t mind hearing a song on the radio once in a while but can’t imagine going to see her live. Like watching golf on tv for me. I wonder how the GBG fans will treat her.
Not sure that I have ever heard Dispatch but have heard the name. After seeing Sam’s band a couple nights ago, i would not want to have to play after them, they are on fire.
