I agree with them.
The Dusters are playing the Palisade Bluegrass festival in the Grand Junction area on June 14. Hopefully that scheduling bodes well for them to play TBF the following week :thumbsup :cheers
Now that’s some good news . Cross your Fingers & Toes !! :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap
Gangstagrass baby! Need to mix it up at TBF, check em out.

CRB!!!
I would love to see the Chris Robinson Brotherhood (CRB) play at TBF. They just announced a new album and tour…that brings them to Snowmass (Aspen) a few days before TBF begins. I would endorse this.
See you in a few months!
GIPSY MOON
plus you know they will have friends… Just saying

Well alrighty! I’ll ask them when I see them next week in Telluride. I know they love coming to Telluride as much as we love them being there.
And as far as and Old and In the Way (minus Jerry), well it would be minus John, minus Vassar… you get the picture. That’s the album that got me started on bluegrass, and NGR is the band I saw live that got me hooked in 76.
Not a “new” act, per se, and I’ve probably begged for this before on here, but I just saw that Ray LaMontagne has new music coming out. He hasn’t toured in forever, but if he plays anywhere this summer, he should come to Telluride. Just sayin’!
Here’s is a link to an interesting and rather sad story in the New York Times magazine about Tony Rice. It sounds unlikely that we’ll ever have the privilege of seeing Tony on the Telluride stage again, so that started me thinking about who could come close to playing the kind of swing music that was a hallmark of Tony’s style with Grisman and others. Bryan Sutton immediately came to mind. He can play it, and he did such a masterful job in the Elks Park tribute to Doc Watson a couple years ago. I’d love to hear more from Bryan in general, and he could front a band that plays in the Tony and Django style. What a fine fit for the Saturday dinner hour. Let’s see … who could Bryan get on mandolin, bass, and fiddle to round out a quartet?

That is sad. He says always singing out of his range stressed his condition. Very interesting. He is special and never a dissapointment. Hard to see him so frail so young.
Bryan, Sammy, Barry, David G…hummm

Bryan Sutton isn’t a bad choice.
There is another up and coming artist that studied under Tony Rice and Tony is on his new album.
In fact they are personal friends. I was actually sent a pre-release copy of his CD about a year ago and it’s wonderful.
I keep saying
The Handsome Family
but no one knows who they are.
Well, T. Bone Burnett selected one of their songs for this new show on HBO…

I’ll second that! I don’t know how these two slipped through PB’s radar.
Here is their song from the opening sequence of True Detective.
Good stuff. :thumbsup
Duo De Twang! Claypool isn’t new but his Four Foot Shack album this year is quite good!
