2014 NightGrass schedule announced

I just posted the complete 2014 NightGrass schedule to the website. There’ll be a whole lotta awesomeness happening late-night this year…
http://www.bluegrass.com/telluride/nightgrass.html

A few personal thoughts:

  • Del McCoury’s 75th Birthday (Saturday @ Palm). There were parties for Del’s 75th birthday in February of this year, but he wanted to treat the week of TBF as his extended birthday celebration - capped by this Saturday night with the Del McCoury Band and many special guests. Much musical cake will be consumed.
  • Tim & Darrell (Saturday @ Sheridan). It’s not often that we do a duo show at NightGrass, let alone the Sheridan Saturday. But when Tim & Darrell personally asked for this slot, obviously we jumped. Any chance to see Tim & Darrell together is a treasure. This one could yield untold riches.
  • Yonder, GSBG, Leftover, Punch. Epic all.
  • Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen (Thursday @ Moon). To see Frank grinning ear-to-ear while tearing up the Moon next to the great banjoist Mike Munford will be a joyous treat.
  • Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers (Saturday @ Moon). Midway between their “van sessions” and the bigness of the Shellman stage, what a perfect way to welcome their groovy California vibe to Telluride.
  • Finally, the 2 song-driven shows: Jason Isbell & The Lone Bellow (Thurs @ Palm), Aoife O’Donovan & Chatham County Line (Friday @ Moon). Sure, there will be jamming, but the real power of these shows will come from hearing brilliant catalogs of songs sung face-to-face in such intimate spaces. You’ll definitely find me at both of these.

(Pre-empting the inevitable next big question… yes, there will be a FirstGrass show again this year in Mountain Village. We’ll announce those details sometime in May.)

Great lineup! However, Friday, the night I really was ambivalent about the mainstage, only has the one killer show I’d be bummed to miss. I’ll just have to be late to Salmon on Thursday and Tim and Darrell on Saturday! I can’t remember the last time I’ve wanted to go to Nightgrass Thursday through Saturday. Killer! Here’s hoping for a few sheridan tickets!

am i the only one not seeing the lineup on the nightgrass page?

nevermind, it’s working now :cheers

THANKS PBG!!!

Wowzers! Lots of great shows to choose from! I think the Sheridan Salmon show has got to be top of my list. That one looks like a really special show, as does Del on Saturday. Love that Greensky plays the Palm, that is a really great alternative if I don’t luck out on the Yonder Sheridan. Thanks PB, good choices!

Yet another epic years is on it’s way. Getting really hard to wait for it. :hop

my link won’t open the schedule… still shows, “Watch for details about the 2014 NightGrass schedule in early April.”

is that 'cause a couple a days ago I wondereded when “Early April” would be over ?!?!? lol

that was happening to me at first. i think because i checked it 50 thousand times over the last few days. try refreshing from the screen itself. if that doesn’t work, try a different browser like IE or something.

Kudos to Brian, Dustin and all the PBgang :medal —hard to imagine you could out-do yourselves so many times and yet, you’ve done it again!
That Nightgrass line-up is so tasty and now I get to spend the weekend figuring out a lotto strategy to enhance an already awesome festival line-up.
:cheers

I agree and I’m thinking ok how in the world can I absorb as much as possible with out damaging my self. No time for sleep! So much great music! :medal
I know where I wanna be :flower

:bignana

So can I enter two lottery forms using two different credit/debit cards from the same bank account?

On this show Aoife O’Donovan & Chatham County Line (Friday @ Moon), are Chatham County Line backing her or are they each playing a seperate set? Her with her own band?

“… followed by a Festivarian-filled gondola ride descending into the lights of Telluride.” That’s the f’n truth!

Curse sleep. :evil
I wish I could hang at nightgrass.

How do we fell about ALL lottery? :huh

My wish came true . Greensky @ the Palm . The only problem is Del McCoury that same night . PBG is making it very very difficult to choose . And then theirs the main stage going on too . SLEEP !! WHAT’S THAT ?? At least if one request doesn’t go through we have chance at the second choice . IS IT JUNE YET!!

The good news for you is that Greensky is Friday and Del is Saturday. The hard part will be leaving the Salmon main stage show early… What is everyone thinking for the lotto? I’m going to go with Yonder on Wednesday, Salmon on Thursday, Yonder followed by Greensky on Friday and I’ll round it all out with some Del on Saturday. Wish me luck! Good luck to y’all!

That’s true . I’ve never been to the Yonder show at the Conference Center . Would love to get a hold of one of those tickets . I like your schedule Englishmartin . That would be ideal . I would love to see an intimate set from O’Brien and Scott too .

GOOD LUCK TO EVERBODY!!

Do the Nightgrass shows typically start at 11 pm?

I’ve only been fortunate enough to win Punch Bros tickets in the lottery, which was several years ago. That year the Punch Bros did not go on until well after midnight.

I’m trying to get a sense as to whether or not I really need to choose between the last act on the main stage and a night grass show, or whether the night grass doesn’t really get started until well after the advertised 11 pm start time.
