2012 Academy faculty

In preparation for the opening of the RockyGrass Academy lottery on Monday (Nov 7), we’ve begun announcing the faculty for the 2012 Academy…

We’re thrilled to welcome 2 brilliant bands-in-residence:
Punch Brothers featuring Chris Thile
The Infamous Stringdusters

We’re busy confirming additional instructors (which we’ll announce as soon as they confirm), but this initial faculty list should get you excited. It’s certainly got us counting down the days until July 22…

Already signed up for the lottery. Any idea what my chances are for intermediate mandolin? And is Jesse Cobb going to instruct along with Chris Thile?

blow your socks off, better then the moon … wow pretty exciting :flower :medal thats a ton to offer up first off, wham, bham!.
Wow! Ok that was more than 4 words, I lied.

Another Academy faculty addition…

We’re excited to announce that Aoife O’Donovan will be teaching the vocal class at the 2012 Academy!

A founding member of Crooked Still, Aoife recently performed on the Tonight Show with Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer, Chris Thile and Stuart Duncan.

The Academy lottery is open thru next Wednesday, November 16.

Had no idea the instructors had been announced ~ entered Monday morning and then got to work ~ looked…I am SO stoked…fingers are crossed ~

YIKES you really know how to tug at my heart strings. She is off the charts, I adore her style, cool and calm delivery. The tone of her voice, smokey. YUMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

That Yo Yo Ma and Friends clip on your newsletter is just so good. What a beautiful combo, they sound so good! Wow what a powerhouse of talent and oppertunity. :medal

OK OK OK I just cannot let this pass me by. I woke up this morning thinking, WHAT, ARE YOU KIDDING!!! You know exactly what you are gonna be doing come July…wow GOSEBUMP CITY a stab at just the possibilitie. HOTDOG HENRY!!!

Anybody have an idea of how likely you are to get picked for the lottery? I’ve never gone to the Academy before. I signed up for intermediate mandolin and vocals, and I have a sinking feeling that both of those options are going to be pretty darn popular this year.
