This will be our 9th year at Rocky Grass, but our first time camping. Can anyone fill me in on when the camp grounds open and what the process is (if any) to claim a spot and set up?
Is there running water, electricity and bathrooms in the on-site tent-only camp grounds? or just inside the festival grounds?
Is there another entrance from the road other than through the festival grounds entrance? thanks!
p.s. my husband wants to know how many songs Elvis actually wrote? (this question is just for fun )
The campground opens for the festival campers on Thursday at 6pm, the line forms in Olsens campground and is lead as a parade at 6pm. There is water and bathrooms with showers. Food and most any supplies can be gotten with a short walk into Lyons.
do you still need to line up in Olsen if you don’t have a vehicle pass? or do they allow vehicles in for set up only? thx
You have to line up at olson’s to get in. Your allowed to bring your car for an hour or so.
If we have one friend that lives in Denver and will be securing a camping spot for us when the campground opens, is that okay? Can she throw down a tent for herself and a tarp for us (we will be arriving Thursday night late from Grand Junction)? Do people generally respect the festivarian tarp rule at Rockygrass? I know they do in Telluride, but just wanted to check. We’d all like to camp together. :flower :flower :flower
That should be fine so long as your not expecting a ranch size space. It’s tightly packed like town park, maybe tighter, less trees. I would suggest your friend has your tent and gets it up right away so you don’t get closed in on before your ready.
