Thanks Ron!
Your awesome.
your most welcome
We are here to Help !
:cheers
Hey Ron talked to the guy through e-mail, he said that I wouldn’t be a good fit as i dont play bluegrass basically…and they had a standing contract with a singer songwriter such as myself.
Thanks for trying and the tip though.
I am generating a lot of interest in the Freedom movement though as some of my songs are political in nature, so I am getting played in an indy film and on a couple internet radio stations currently.
Got my CD available on CD baby now too so things are moving just not breaking into the festivals still.
I will keep plugging along and trying, haven’t given up yet…somebody needs to give this old handicapped guitar player a charity slot and let the able bodied younguns wait another year, i won’t be around forever…lol
I can see it now i will be dead and people will then discover my music and say “I wish I could have seen him play live”…haha
Yeah I talked with Bevin about you
He Felt Bad …but is commited to the other singer songwriter
Keep the Faith !!!
at least come hang out with us campfires are fun !
:cheers
If I can ever make it an advantageous trip I will come. It’s tough traveling out of state on a fixed income without the hope of advancement.
I would like to meet you though, maybe one day…
I do appreciate you.
Hope we can meet and hang out someday
do you have a promo pack billy? , most good festivals will pretty much require one.
I have more information on myself than most would like to know…lol
but yes.
also I also have this www.BillyBlaze.net
I am hoping next year will be the year of the Festivals, i am contacting every one in Texas…however the important one “Kerrville” is pretty much a snob fest, lots of old singer songwriters here say it used to not be that way…so sad it is now.
No musician I know wants to pay to play, and I know a lot of them at all levels of the game.
too much info in a promo pack can be just as bad as no pack at all, or even worse really.
Basically, all you want a nice cover page, ie. an interesting eye catching picture,
a SHORT paragraph saying something to the effect of " Hey mister talent booker, this is who I am, these are some of my accomplishments, this how i help to promote shows. Id love to work with ya, Here’s a CD so you can hear me. Thanks for your time."
A really nice, high quality, full color photo.
Optional… a SHORT SHORT SHORT Bio. I cant stress short enough. 99% These folks arnt going to give a shit who you are quite honestly. They want to see what you look like and hear what you sound like. But in the off chance you’ve piqued someones curiosity in that way, a SHORT bio can give them a better Idea of who you are. Keep it SHORT no need to bore folks.
My band doesnt even use a Bio. Instead we are collecting quotes from prominent people in the bluegrass scene regarding their impressions of us and what we do for a fourth page.
AND OF COARSE the CD, most folks will tell you to only send your 2-3 best tunes.
The more professional looking the better, If you have a logo, use it everywhere, include your contact info on EVERY PAGE. This is working for us, I wish you well!
Hope it helps
another thing …
