What are your best TBF memories?

Wow, Skubes, that blows! I’m glad all my weird festival crap happens pre-fest.

Best TBF memories were made this year. My wife and I went up to Bridal Veil and had a ceremony on Saturday morning to renew our vows in celebration of our 10-year anniversary. My wife and I had our 4 year old boy and 14 month old girl with us which was wonderful, both of our parents were there and our best friends from Kansas City were there. It was a very special morning and a very special festival. It will be very hard to top but I am willing to go back and give it a try!

When John Fogerty sang hit after hit and the young woman behind me said, “I wish he would play something I know” :lol
So many new memories come creepin into your head after fest, for weeks and weeks. :thumbsup

I wonder what rock she was living under.
She must have been pretty young to not know any Credence songs. :huh

Talking about Fogerty, I was hanging with Cathy Miller and I have never seen her so excited or happy… It was a blast watching her dance and we sang the whole time!!!

The soft whisper of a voice Al K has, almost fragile…soft, so pretty.

During John Fogerty, 4 of us (elders) were ripping up our dance tarp havin g ablast singing and dancing to hit after incredible hit. There were a bunch of youngsters around us and they were diggin on our “vibe”. 2 great things were said, one was directly to us and the other not for us to overhear. The first to us was “You give us (meaning the younger generation) hope” How sweet was that. Secondly, this is funny, one young girl turns to her friend when John stopped and said “Wow those people will probably have to have a protien bar now to make it to the next show.” It cracked us up. We just kept on dancing to Leftover and no protein bars were needed, just some awesome music. Had a great time.

I met a man named Russell and he shared a story with me, his story. Our paths crossed at Fest and I am so glad . His story was that he drove in on his Harley, sunbaked and tired. As we spoke to each other he began to unfold, felt at ease with me a stranger. A new friendship, I could feel it growing right before my eyes. He shared that his life was headed in the wrong direction and that out of no where his troubled female friend, gave him her baby as she was unable to care for her.
He took that baby girl and turned his life around, sober and clean and headed on the peaceful path. He finally took off his shoes and what do I see. Pink toenails on a rugged Harley man. We laughed and he said, every month he takes his little girl to the Beauty Salon for a Mani/Pedi and haircut. And she always cries out, come on Daddy, it’s fun, so he does. Our paths would of never crossed and thank you PBG, I am a better women for meeting you Russell. Thank you for sharing your story with me. :sunshine

That was definitely a once in a lifetime experience that I don’t care to repeat. Except the part where we were finally home safe and well.

I forgot about the signs you made!

I left them on the truck till mid-September, when I finally took it in to get looked at.

1997, my first year, met and camped with my terrific daughter. She was in her first year at Berkeley, and we’re from Ohio. So she suggested TBF as a way to get together halfway. We were in line for breakfast at Columbia Hotel and Bela is behind us in line. He flicked an insect out of my hair (after warning me), then asked my 18 yr old daughter for feedback about his last set, she (we) were absolutely thrilled as we are both big Bela fans. Of course, we invited him to sit with us, but he was still waiting for his group. He was so personable and down to earth, terrific guy.

More then 20 years ago I was scooped up after work and thrown in a car for a ROAD TRIP! Landed in Tride and all along the way, everywhere we stopped for gas and a bite to eat, people were singing and making music. I kept thinking, whats everybody singin about :lol

Turns out they were headed to Fest as well and the crowd was just as much as a music maker as the folks on stage. WOW CRAZY GOOD!!!

The snow, fresh and bright. Robert Plant singing to the mountains in the snow, dancing in the snow. Fresh air, warm smiles. ROBERT PLANT!!!
