Yesterday, a friend that I am helping as he builds his house, said, “How do we know what is our real memory of an event, rather than the story we have from other people, or other sources.” He was talking about being at Woodstock and how his memory differs from another guy that he was with at the time.
I find that to be true for me about TBF. Too many years, so many events, songs, faces, meals, dust, sun and wind and rain. Sight and sound, folded into one giant flash of time, and I pick bits of memory from the years and pretend that is the way it was.
The beauty of TBF is that I can be in moments, outside of time, almost, caught like a gust of wind as it cruses the canyon.
I remember an A minor chord, springing full force from the speakers as I turned and met a face, full of recognition as we passed glances, in Love.

So amazing you got married there!! How beautiful!

I am not sure there is one best memory from TBF. But my favorite is when my boyfriend (of one month at the time) took me to Telluride for the very first time. We went up on the hill and sat and watch the crowd and listened to music, laying in the grass and flowers. I knew at that moment that I was in love with him forever. We have been back every year since, this will be our 6th year and I am so excited… Everytime we have been it is different and exciting, there are so many memories.
Last year the really rainy day was just amazing, watching that storm come over the mountains and the sun on the other side of the canyon. We were standing just staring at the sky, it was so beautiful.

Thank you! Brad and I are going again this year in hopes of continuing a tradition as you and your boyfriend have done/are doing. :peace

Sam Bush’s 30th Anniversary set…standing front row watching 30+ pickers on stage!! Oh and one horn…thanks Jeff Coffin for adding some flair.

Hi Everyone!

I have only been to Telluride two times, but both were filled with some of the most memorable experiences of my life. The first time I was visiting a friend in Boulder and we drove down just for the Thursday show-- watching and listening to Tim O’Brien open the show was, well, it was just “it” for me.

At that time I was finishing my undergrad degree in English Education at NYU; I played music on the side and never dreamt of being able to play music as a profession. That day at Telluride sparked my dream to pursue music. After the festival I went back to New York, finished my degree, and taught high school English for 3 years in Brooklyn. Then…I quit and up and moved to Nashville to become a touring musician and songwriter!

Last year I was a Finalist in the TROUBADOUR competition! It was such an amazing experience. I met some of the most kind and generous folks I’ve ever met and the competition taught me so much.

This year I am honored to be a finalist again and I just cannot wait to see what memories the festival holds. Oh, and I also entered my band in the BAND Competition, so I’ll have two sets of memories to take home.

If anyone on here would like a FREE DOWNLOAD of the song that got me into the competition this year, just go to www.norajanestruthers.com and enter the promo code: telluride

My album is being released on June 22nd, and this track is not available anywhere else on the internet, so it really is something special. --Only the best for my fellow Telluridians!

All my best!
Nora Jane Struthers

                                                   :hombre

:peace June 20, 1998 TBF 25th Anniversary, (my first) Saturday night with Sammy, full moon and snow showers at the same time. “Howlin’ at the Moon” brand new album, and did we do some howlin’ that night! Hooked on Festivaaaal forever! Wish I could go every year, but love the KOTO streams when I can’t. :cheers All in for 2010! CU there! (and Hooch says he’ll take me Foot Slave hunting in the park!) Can’t wait, is it tomorrow so we can roadtrip yet?!? :thumbsup

Thanks Nora. Great song and performance. Looking forward to the CD.

Thank you so much for listening! I am really excited to get the record and my music out there.

Telluride is amazing!

Nora Jane

Last year we had the pleasure of camping next to Nora Jane and PJ in TP. There was good music coming from Camp Lil’ Dell and when they came over and joined in it was icing on the cake. Good times, good memories.

Hey- Good to see you Keith (?)…

Hey Deb! Looking forward to having a bloody mary with you in a few weeks!

Keith

I have no memories, but hope to make some this summer. We hope to do the following: drink, drink more, eat, eat more, off road, sing, laugh, hike, get lost in the woods.

See you soon,
Moonbeam (aka: Hooch’s sister)

Well, that explains the tye-dye shirt in the picture! :lol

Looking forward to meeting you, Moonbeam! :thumbsup

Hello All!! :wave

My favorite Telluride memory is to be in the making!! I’m a first timer and cannot wait to meet you all… LETS MAKE MEMORIES! I’m so pumped! Whooo hooo!!! :cheers :cheers

My memories are too great to mention here… but I’d have say that Gillian Welch with Alison Kraus and Emmylou was one of my favorites musical memories.
My favorite campsite memories are just sitting around, playing music, laughing and enjoying the company of all the amazing people that are there.
This will be my first Telluride in 3 years. I returned in August from Africa where I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer for over two years (the timing of my service just happened to cause me to miss 3 years of Telluride even though I was only gone for about 25 months). I missed it so much while I was in Africa. My friends sent me programs with notes and messages, which made me cry.
I can’t express how excited I am to get back there.
Can’t wait to see you all there!
Kristy

Hats off to you kristycamp!!
