Preliminary 2014 Telluride Bluegrass lineup

And let’s not forget, they almost, no not almost, always leave the best for last. :burn :lol

I am NOT even goin there :lol! Brian and Dustin and all the rest, you ROCK! :medal

This is the preliminary lineup after all. More to come. Would be a surprise not to see Chris Thile there. I mean, Jerry Douglas isn’t listed either, and it’s hard to imagine him not being there. You figure they’ll have the House Band, and how do you do that without Jerry? But who knows; maybe the House Band wants a year off. Hopefully it’s just a given, so why bother listing in the prelim lineup?

WOW! I’ve been waiting for this for the last couple of days! And PB has delivered, but what would be expect?? So happy to see Greensky, Yonder, Leftover Salmon with Payne, Rowan, and Keller with the McCourtys! I like the blend of bluegrass styles so far, can’t wait for the real surprises in the coming weeks! Thanks for a great lineup thus far!! Yeew! :medal

Amen to that! Glad Greensky has been on the bill the last couple of years, I know the Punch Bros will end up here and the Stringdusters! It’s gonna be a good summer

The Lone Bellow CD is super catchy!

I was lucky enough to see The Lone Bellow a few months ago, and Telluride is in for quite the treat. Their harmonies are tough to top, and they LOVE performing. This band fits in perfectly with the Festivarian atmosphere.

:cheers :cheers :cheers

I listened to that Lone Bellow album a couple of times, and it did nothing for me. But hey, if everybody else likes them, that means the restaurants will be less crowded during their set.

Warren Haynes… he can move mountains with soul…fit right in this year… :huh :huh

Who is left I wonder…

GOOSEBUMP CITY!!!till june.

Brian Where’s Jerry? And the House Band? :pickin :pickin :pickin :pickin :pickin :pickin :pickin :pickin

I have to say I must stop myself from searching for additional announcements. Better left as a forgotten wrapped gift under the couch not to be opened until completely fed up with cold and snow! :lol

the world that you need is wrapped in gold silver sleeves, left beneath christmas trees in the snow

how bout a neutral milk hotel set :evil

wow I have no idea what this means but it sounds so good :lol :medal

Van the man would be groovin :flower gotta stop guessin though. :lol

Evil

Can’t wait to open more gifts! I’m tired of shaking boxes!

In the meantime, will be seeing Ralph Stanley and His Clinch Mountain Boys in Minneapolis for my January Bluegrass fix!! He would be an UBER addition to the lineup!!

OK, back to rooting around under the couch looking for forgotten gifts! :wave

Have no idea why the word “evil” starts my post!! Kinda scary! My computer has become self-aware or something :lol

neutral milk hotel is a band from the '90s with a somewhat genius and unpredictable singer and writer. this link is the song those lyrics are from. the whole album “in an aeroplane over the sea” is a work of art, a flowing opera that everyone should spend some time with. it was based loosely around anne frank’s story. the band broke up back then and stayed broken up but did get together earlier this year for a few shows which sold out rather quickly. the album was a commercial flop but has received increasing renoun as being one of the best of the '90s. they move seamlessly from melancholy folk to loud rock and i think they would be an incredible addition to telluride. not sure the fest would reach out to such a “basket case” type group tho, i could only hope.

Some Theater in there for sure. Intense, operatic (is that a word :huh,) in some ways.

New Riders Of The Purple Sage my choice for way backs revived.

Beautiful lyrics :medal

They move me. But it could be they appeal to my female persuasions. I hope to be swooning to them in June

I can see the Colorado Symphony adding something new and exciting up on the stage. I will make sure to not miss that set!

They’ve got some good sounds. Bowties, vests, suspenders, an old time visual to their videos, a few triumphant anthem-type songs, and you’ve got a nice little Mumford-ish band with a different sound, since they have a female vocalist to help. Should be fun

When do you think we’ll get more names?
