I thought I’d update this post…

My Cingular phone had no coverage when I was in Telluride Saturday!
I think I’m gonna try switching to Verizon.

Update: I later found it to be the pay-as-you-go phone. Normal accounts are not affected.

Wow… I was just about to switch to Cingular for the iPhone on the 9th. I guess I’ll wait until after… or maybe not at all. Dang… I want that iPhone.

It kills two birds with one stone… given that my iPod went “swoosh!” down an airplane toilet.

<---- iPod-less Monkey

Your iPod went down an airplane toilet :huh Do tell…

Well dahlin… it was like this:

I am afraid of flying (plane take-off failure out of O’Hare… one of the American Airline flights with de-icing issues back in 95)… which makes the fact that I do it almost weekly hard on a little monkey like me. I make sure that I fly off hours so that I can calm myself with a few cocktails and music. I was listening to my music, and drinking those cocktails on my way to Minneapolis and had to use the “facilities.” Because I engage the time-honored practice of “hovering” in public restrooms, anything in my back pocket, if the pocket is not substantial, is in a somewhat precarious situation. Being claustrophobic (left over from near-death drowning accident at age 8), I move efficiently in and out of said facilities… small room and all. So hitting “flush”, re-adjusting clothing, and standing are all “one move.” When the music suddenly stopped, I turned around in time to see my iPod in the toilet and had a split second to decide if I was going to retrieve my iPod.

I decided to wave good-bye.

I dropped my last phone in a toilet too… but that’s a different story.

My kind of woman…pays last respects to her iPod, even if it is a quick wave goodbye :flower

I’ll leave the phone story to the imagination :evil

hmmmm that’s very odd my ATT/Cingular Pone worked fine in Town Park last year…

:cheers

I also have Cingular/AT&T and it worked all through ski season this year. I did not check my phone when with Tom on Saturday but I’m hoping it was just a hiccup.

Pete and I are on different cingular plans but were both able to get out last year.

peace, kym
