Thanks Billy (your Mary & Mars cds on the way)…Question for Bluegrass Brian or anyone who may know the answer…Can my friend who lives in Telluride purchase tix next Friday, accompany me and Phish friend to box office at showtime, collect the wrist bracelets, and then we gain access? Tride friend has no desire for Phish. I’m confused as to whether or not a local can sell the tickets to out of town friends as long as local is present at showtime (per the Daily Planet article). :huh
Negative.
Any tickets purchased by locals must be used by locals. The purchaser of the ticket will present their ID at the box office, and must be the recipient of the ticket (wristband).
The town is adamant that the tickets be for, and used by, locals.
that’s all I know…
“but I do have a couple Townpark Bluegrass tickets that are possible trade bait for anyone willing to go to Telluride on April 2nd and get Phish tickets for me from the Sheridan Opera house.”
I am one of those Phish fans who decided to do TBGF instead of the Phish run, but I’ll take you up on that trade if I can get some Phish tickets via Ticketmaster
Also for those worried about Phish fans, the 4 night run at Red Rocks was fantastic and the fans were clean, curtious and fun for the duration…although I did see one topless girl looking for tickets OH THE HUMANITY!!! :lol
The reputation of Phish Fans trashing Red Rocks/Jazzfest had more to do with the post Grateful Dead riff-raff than it did Phish and they have not had issues at any venue since 1996.
Hey! I resemble that remark! :rock :rock :rock :concert :drunk :drunk :drunk :hooch
“Hey! I resemble that remark!”
Not that there’s anything wrong with that…being post 95’ Dead Riff Raff that is.
((crashes gate))
((looks around to see if anyone noticed))
((Rages))
Well my prayers have been answered so I’m going Phishing in Townpark this August!
So happy about this…
:cheers
These should be fun shows… I got rejected by lottery and am trying for the public on sale date this Friday… Anyone local interested in helping me gain access? I would be happy to help you with a free ticket for your troubles! Jp275(at)nau.edu
See you at Bluegrass!! and hopefully Phish (the shows would be my 49th and 50th!!) :flower
SCORE! Nice pull, Dave. Stick around CO a little longer and head up to Boulder for a party at my place, Aug. 13.
I wish i could Beru, but my friend who got us the tix is flying from Cali and i’m picking him up somewhrere in SW Co. and we are doing a week trek around those shows. I’m gonna be tapped out for vacation bw Tride Bluegrass, RGrass, Phish and Labor Day Pagosa.
Your cds have been made and i’m sending them out tomorrow. Seeing 2/3 of the group tonight in their current lineup. Saw Greensky Monday night, got all sweaty…
I have 2 Phish mail order lawn tickets for Hartford, both nights & 2 SPAC mail order lawn tickets, both nights as well. Face value.
I got my Phish in Telluride + TP camping! That makes two trips to TRide, 1 for Bluegrass and one for Phish. I could not be more happy!! :thumbsup
I missed TBF this year, so I am so happy to get a chance to return to T-ride and watch YMSB, Phish, and the late-night shows!!
I can’t wait!
a very interesting perspective from the telluride town council…

enjoy!
yay phish! :hombre
Makes me love Ferg even more seeing all the pre fest arrangements he has to line up just for all of us. Phish, I’ve never seen them… Ferg rocks and so does the town of Telluride! :medal
Today, this ad was posted on Craigs List - Fort Collins:
"We are currently seeking several employees for an event in Telluride on 8/9 and 8/10. This entails travelling to Telluride, accomadations and meals are provided. Must have reliable transportation, and be able to work evening shifts.
Please call 303 286 0844 Training is provided. Must haev proof of eligibility to work in the US."
Today, I read all the comments and info in this entire Thread – very carefully. I just watched the YouTube clip of Telluride Town Council Meeting Concert Vote, mentioned and posted July 30 by Dayton. Then I re-read the Craigs List ad. Then I called them, just now. It was confirmed to me that this is for the Phish concert in Telluride.
They are asking me to work for $10 per hour, no food, no travel expenses, and a free camping space - not real lodging. Travel, food, lodging must be paid for by myself!
If I worked for “them” under these conditions, I would be mad as HELL at Telluride, mad at Phish, mad at the crowd, mad at the promoters, and just plain Pissed Off as Hell! Is this what “they are looking for”? Is this what “Telluride” stands for, these days?
I thought it would be prudent for me to post this.
btw, I worked at Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 1986: I was a senior freelance video engineer who was contracted by Challenger Productions. Challenger drove a 6-million-dollar TV production truck to Telluride for this. We did an 8-camera shoot for TBF. We received proper pay, and a per diem package. This is standard procedure.
Sorry for not minding my own business.
peace,
Monte Barry
Wellll M the times they are a changin… if I paid my employees to sleep and eat, well lets just say, lots of folks will work for that. Yes indeed, the times they are a changin’…
ummmm, no offense but, i’m pretty sure they are looking for volunteers who actually would like to be there for the event and are willing to work in exchange for tickets and do smaller security type jobs, not video engineers for an 8 camera shoot.

I agree with you 100%.
Craigs List guidelines for posting jobs to classified ads
When I checked this ad out, for the Phish concert, I already knew all the Guidelines on Criags List for posting job ads to the classified section there. I’m posting the guidelines here, so others reading this know more about where I’m coming from.
My knowledge tells me it’s 2 days driving from Fort Collins to Tellluride, and back again. Add traveling expenses, and travel pay to compensate for this. Let’s say that’s about $300 to 350, for the sake of argument. That’s what they want me to cover out of my pocket. This is a clear violation of Craigs List policy.
Staying in a tent in a free campsite, free parking, getting paid same as everyone else for the shifts worked, and getting food provided at the job site, is not something I would argue about.
Phish in TownPark is right around the corner, oh yeah, Karl Denson and his Tiny Universe, oh yeah, Cornmeal & Tea Leaf Green, there’s also Jeff Austin n friends, and a Jazz festival to boot. Can’t get here soon enough!
:woohoo
