Appalooza Trading company moved into the Llama very recently, apparently they have a bar there … but haven’t been in there yet.
If by the “sandwhich cart” you mean the mexican food cart next to the moon, yes, it’s still there.
There’s also a new Greek/Middle Eastern Food stand on the La Cocina Patio named “Caravan” … they used to just serve ice cream there, now it’s full on food. Great Spanikopita.
There’s also a new deli / hot food place above Clarks market, in the same building as the visitor center … great soups & salads, among other things.
It is a bummer about the Llama no longer being a music venue. It might be kind of misleading to see all the bars during bluegrass hosting live music, since it’s definitely not like that year round. The Llama was the most active in terms of promoting live music and had the best sound system out of any of the bars & perhaps even better than the SOH.
So, with both the Llama and the Bubble Lounge no longer in operation, it pretty much just leaves the SOH and the Moon (which has been kind of on a hiatus - EXCEPT for festivals). Believe it or not, the SOH does not pack every weekend with back to back shows. It’s more like once every other week during the peak seasons we’ll get a good show which is “on target” (for my taste at least). But I have to give them credit for landing some of the bigger fish (i.e. LOS this winter & Hot Tuna later this summer). On the other hand, the Llama would routinely book 3-4 shows per week & chances are one of them would suit your fancy. It’s too bad for the local music scene. Hopefully, the Moon will pick up the slack.

Are you serious? The Llama had a crummy sound system. I dunno about comparatively speaking to other venues around Telluride, but they definitely needed to invest in an upgrade. I’m sure $50 worth of equipment from Walmart would have been an improvement.
I was never a huge fan of the space (with the pole in front of the stage) and thought the overall sound @ the SOH was far better, but according to musicians I know who play and others who work in live sound … that it was better than most around town.
There was no question the Llama were the best at promoting a steady stream of quality acts.
