I’m camped at illum and in the band contest, I cant imagine any way to safely transport my upright bass on the shuttle. First Id be shocked if it would fit and even if it did I cant imagine it not getting bumped around by folks on the shuttle. They may look big and strong but basses are still delicate instruments.
How would you recommend getting my bass from illum to elks park without risking damage to the bridge and other delicate parts?
I would recommend figuring out which shuttle times are least crowded and planning on taking one of them with your bass.
You’re only other option would be to find a festi-friend who is driving that way…but I’d imagine you’re fairly limited on the types of vehicles that can transport your bass.
we could do a mass Illium Exxodus and serve as Body Guards for you and your bass? Im sure people would respect the fact that you are transporting a fragile, delicate instrument. I know we could pull it off safely.
It would be in a case right?
If you are playing the stage I think they have an instrument check in time?
So if when you initially got there you checked it, it would only need to make it back to Illium?..right?
just some thoughts…
:cheers
In the camping information it says that the mary ilium camping passes require 4 day passes…Are they huge sticklers on that? My parents are coming and are only going to the festival 2 days, or maybe just one, so that they can take my 1 year-old hiking and stuff so I can have some fun at the festival. Is this going to be a problem? Three of us, in our camp of 5, have 4 day passes.
Hey Allison,
I read that you can stay as long as you have a four day or single day pass one the main camping page. From reading other posts it does seem like regulations are pretty strict and campsites are monitored via wristbands. My wife, daughter and I will be staying at Ilium as well. Just look for the little girl with white hair and you’ve found us. There may be opportunities with other campers that may babysit. This seems to be something pretty common and worth checking out.
l’ll make a few and if you run into me, the Mom with the nearly bald baby in the red kelty backpack, plan on getting a crown! Plus, making some crowns gives me something productive to do other than sitting on the computer!

Isn’t that kind of uncomfortable? Most people put the computer on a desk and use a chair to sit in front of it

:wave We are stayin at Ilium Sunday to Sunday and need to leave the campground Sunday afternoon. What is the concensus as to whether we’ll be able to get our car out then??? :huh :huh :huh :huh
I was able to get my car out late on a Saturday one year when I had to leave early. Just make sure to pick a parking spot that you wont get boxed into.
