haha, dustin. i’ll keep those tips in mind, but i’m pretty tough i’ll be bringing my tailgate chair and some orange gear for sure. and if i need backup w/ hooch i can just give you a shout since it sounds like you’re a fellow ut fan (alum?)! :thumbsup
rocky top, you’ll always be, home sweet home to me!
LibraryVolGirl…You can wear orange as long as it’s University of Florida orange (Go Gators!!!). You and CSI Mike and Dustin can all try to gang up on me, but the only thing you three will be able to achieve from your combined UT diplomas is a free handicapped parking sticker.
Dustin…I can pretty much read if there are a lot of pictures and it’s written in crayon! And I think Beggin strips are VERY close to infamous “Turkey Bacon” so will do in a pinch…especially if it’s free! I’m not proud.
NO gator orange!! man, that is one roadtrip i’ll never make again. i’ve been to tons of sec towns and gainesville was no bueno. (didn’t help we got stomped, which i think might happen a lot this year)
wonder what a bach from UT and a master’s from fsu could get me?
i thought of all the bacon lovers 'round here on saturday when i stopped by the local record store. they have a whole bacon section. bacon belts, bacon bandaids, etc!!
Well of course you got stomped! CSI Mike has felt that pain many times…like that one time when he kicked himself out of a bar during the UT/UF game…but I digress. Anyway, you probably didn’t go to the right place in Gainesville. If you didn’t have the Leonardo’s Garlic Rolls then you really missed out. They remind me of better days when my diet was mostly Wonder Bread and doughnuts.
My sister got her Masters at FSU and it got her a great job teaching future felons in the slums of Atlanta. You’ve got to dream big!! (and carry a concealed weapon)
I highly suggest you bring bacon bandaids for the traditional Town Park Nighttime Trip-And-Fall event.
as a lonesome rambler myself i’m wondering how its gonna work when i arrive @ tp? i know the vet camps have their locations. so i just haul myself, my mando and my tent to any open spot or cozy up to a camp (minus those with gator orange and/or other sec teams one from volunteer country shouldn’t associate with-ha!)? do i need a sunshade?
Note to all UT grads: I will be hosting a grammar seminar on Tuesday, June 15th in Town Park to explain the differences between “our” and “are”. I will be using visual aids (including small woodland creatures), and will speak slowly in a hillbilly drawl for clarity. Moonshine will be served after the class.
Depending on when you arrive and/or who you get chummy with online, you may already know whom you will be camping with/near and whether or not you need your own shade or if you will be sharing with others.
Note to all FL gators: Someone else will be hosting a grammar seminar on Tuesday, June 15th in Town Park to explain the proper use of subjective pronouns such as who and whom. They will be using visual aids (including small swampland creatures), and will speak slowly in a coastal drawl for clarity. Gator tails will be served after the class.
You don’t have time??? Are you trying to say that you are more busy getting ready for festival season than I am? Puh-LEEZ!! Hehe…get your butt in gear Dustin. How about a preview of any new festi-gear???
UT girl…yes, bring shine. And there are a lot of trees in certain areas, but no so dense as to prevent sticking a tent between most of them.
Haha, I love the SEC trash talking . . . if the planets align this offseason with this conference rearrangement stuff, maybe the SEC will save FSU and Clemson from our miserable states of being in a basketball conference. Then I could try out some of these Gainesville garlic rolls on a roadtrip of my own!
Sounds like there’s some great fun to be had for loners with a very welcoming Festivarian community (I’ll forget about anything I heard about port-a-potties!) Libraryvolgirl - maybe if I can find a TP ticket, we can recruit others and start a newbie colony and make our green festival status known as a group?
hey adam - we’re loner fb pals now that sounds like a plan! as long as we plaster the newbie site w/ lots and lots of ut orange-haha. if you’re interested in tp remember to check the returned tix on tuesday starting around 1:30ish!
okay y’all another question…do nightgrass tix ever go in the returned tix? i haven’t bought any nightgrass tix yet…
Nightgrass tickets are non-refundable, so you’ll want to keep an eye out on the Nightgrass ticket/exchange section of the forum, or make your own post looking for specific tickets.
If you’re thinking about YMSB, they are still available but likely won’t last the rest of the day. FYI
