I did warn the Lil Smokies that the crunchy frog comes with a warning, sort of like the brown acid at Woodstock, but if you feel like experimenting try two shots.
Most of them had some last year!
:wave
They just might have some this year too
:peace
Those numbers are not nearly high enough for Crunchy Frog classification. I’d say the Health one should be double digits.
Very nice PW! :medal My froggy senses are tingling with the awesome s'wonderment of possibly some new CF stickers (or t-shirts) for TBF 44, as this festivarian will be serving his one year suspension for some alleged "gorilla abuse" near the (legal) fire ring during TBF 42 Tropical Tuesday. :evil :cheers Instability Hazard fersure :drunkOne year suspension?? You aren't coming, Swander?? And yes, the CF shwag is in the works!
I love how talk of Crunchy Frog eventually takes over all the discussions on this forum. In other news, I’m heading out to see The Smokies tonight!

Well I hope you had some Crunchy Frog before heading out to see the Lil’ Smokies! And, if so, I hope you have a chaperone.
Over the course of the last year, I’ve left every Smokies show I’ve attended saying “That was probably their best yet.” That trend continued last night. They just keep getting better and better. The Reverend Matt is becoming a big player in their sound. His guitar playing is top notch and his gospel vocals and Super Tramp cover add a lot to this band. Plus, the new fiddler who I saw for the first time last night blew me away. Not only is he a fantastic fiddler, but his voice is velvety smooth and reminds me of Woody Platt from Steep Canyon Rangers. All in all, this band can not and will not be stopped. I feel incredibly fortunate to have followed their career essentially from the beginning when they would play for free in bar parking lots to where they are now, filling the 1,400 person Wilma Theatre every time they play there.
Oh, and Scott (the bass player) told me that they have been dreaming about Crunchy Frog all year.
Thanks for the review, Sugar. Saw them at Winter Wondergrass, and agreed on the new guitar player. Don’t remember a fiddle, though. When was that added? Can’t wait to see them on the stage and back at camp! Cameron’s reading of the disclaimer was hilarious.
Time to go yet?? :drive

They had a fiddler for a long time, but his last show was New Year’s. The new guy is brand new. This is the first time I’ve seen him. I don’t know if he was on this recent tour with them or if they waited for a hometown show to introduce him. They actually met him while in Colorado for Winter Wonder Grass. He just had to finish up a few things before he could officially join in. Jake Simpson is his name. I believe he’s a Lyons native.

Oh Jake is with them now? He IS great! I met him last year at Sarah’s birthday party, and he knew every song I requested. I saw him again just last month at the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown, can’t remember what band he was playing with, but I’m so stoke he is now with the Lil Smokies!
Here’s a really cool write up about The Smokies including an interview with dobro ace Andy Dunnigan. Check it out!
