The trouble has passed for now. It missed us.
Now onto the Cupcakes…somewher in all of this mess of cookbooks and other Chefie stuff is a portion guide. I’ll look deeper for it and post something soon.

Oh Miki I didn’t want you to downsize the cake too much if it means you can’t create your vision of it! (unless you think you need to, to make it a bit easier to transport) The cake and decorations you describe sound wonderful and incredibly creative and unique, and very special just like the happy couple! I just want you to do what you want to do, any way you want, as big as you want. I don’t have any idea how many might show up, that’s why I suggested paper plates and plastic forks which I would be very happy to provide.
Tie dye (or not) cupcakes would be quite fun too, just in case some folks don’t eat bacon. (Yea I know, there are a few of THOSE people out there)
Please don’t change your ideas or plans just because we don’t know how many may show. You do what you want. It is so very generous of you to do this in the first place! :medal :hug

I dont think there is any chance of low attendance
I have no idea how many will show up;if it will be just folks who know them or hundreds. I want you to make it easy on yourself since you are bringing it all the way from Golden. And like was mentioned already, leftover cake or cupcakes won’t last 5 minutes once the oyster feed crowd shows up. I think your vision is great and if you can still do it on a cake of a more manageable size would be perfect!
I too can make tie-dye cupcakes. I’ve been practicing on my kids. No deaths or trips to the ER, so the recipe is good so far. I’ll make several dozen. And I have a basket to put them in! :thumbsup

Hey Mel! I’ll make 4 or 6 dozen too. That should take care of the overflow. Tie-Dye batter with espresso cream icing will be what we do unless there are some other suggestions.
:thumbsup UJ, when do you get to TP, and where will you bake them? I’m gonna guess you won’t be bringing them in your luggage.
We arrive on the 12th and yes, I will be bringing them in my luggage! I will be icing them the day of the event though. We have made them several days ahead of time before, put them in an air tight container and they hold up great. We have a picture of the batch we made last weekend but the file is too big to send over the forum…unless someone can tell me how to send a 2.67MB JPEG!

I am making a sheet cake that feeds aprox 70 and a topper for Lalagay and Dayton to take.
This was an excellent suggestion from Hooch and it makes it easy to transport. It will have to chill in my fridge over night so the iceing can set.
So Monday I will ice it and Tuesday I can hopefull bring it buy in my NEW RED WAGON!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS :lol :lol :lol

Miki, this is what I had to deal with this past weekend. Lauren (daughter) made margarita cupcakes, from scratch and complete with tequila. OMG, they were awesome! This is difficult for me, as I’m in the fitness field, and tell people every day not to eat this stuff! :lol
Whoa!!! Sign me up for like 87 of those! Alternately just bring me a bottle of tequila and I’ll pour it over top of a normal cupcake.

Well, unfortunately, I’m not getting to big T until Wednesday, so I guess I’m going to miss the bacon cake. I feel almost glad. I’ll leave that to you serious Town Park residents.
