OK ok ok everything is relative. I forget I have lived in Colorado for a long time. Let me take this opportunity to stress to be prepared for all types of weather it is crucial to a good time. First few Fests I was wet, cold, drank too much and ate very little. Sun burned and cold at night I fainted twice. Be well advised to pace yourself, have a full layer of clothes with you at all times. That means rain gear you can wip out in a moments time, a hat and sunscreen gloves socks and different shoes one for wet one for dry…the weather in Colorado is ever changing so please do take it seriously and know that if you don’t like the weather in Colorado wait 5 minutes it will change. I wear a swimsuit, a sleeveless t, a hoodie, rain gear for day and pull on pants. Light and easy to peel off and on.
All the rain is making riding and walking the Cherry Creek bike path in Denver interesting for sure…it was flooded out today…but I try to imagine how gorgeous Bridal Veil Falls is going to be…it’s been almost non-existent by festival in some recent years.
Half Full / Half Empty…right now, the cup is overflowing.
After coming out of the Steaming Bean (which is now officially defunct) where I had sought refuge to warm up after getting soaked from M&S (bailed halfway) and on my way back to see Robert Plant.
I believe the New Sheridan owns that building & they’re now putting in their own coffee shop … although won’t be upon until later in the summer. I’m not sure if the Bean owners are looking to open elsewhere.
Not sure how the new coffee house will turn out, but I believe the Sheridan people ran into a snafu during remodeling (of the old bean) which required them to do some unanticipated structural work to stabilize the building … so the opening has been postponed until later in the summer. However, the Sheridan should have their new rooftop bar open by Bluegrass … which should be interesting.
Still plenty of coffee around town - apparently, Arroyo (wine bar kinda near ACE) recently procurred an espresso machine.
