I’ll have a big ol straw hat on with a Dharmabum button and in tow with the cutest little white haired girl you’ve ever seen! :thumbsup

DUDE,

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to view your pictures.
It is driving me crazy. I have all these pictures in my head of what it looks like but in reality have now clue what it looks like.
So I guess this is a shout out to anyone who has Illium pics!!
You can send them to me personally if that makes it easier?

If you do, when we get there I will hook you up with a brew or some sort of treat!

Howdy fFarmer,

Well that’s too bad that there’s access issues. Here are direct links, in case that helps.

Dude, those pics are great :thumbsup! I just made that river pic my background

Thank you so much, dude, for sharing your pics
I wandered in today looking for info about where to camp, and while I originally had Ilium last on my mental list, now I think it’s first.

Questions about the pics/campground for anyone who’s willing to share:
*In the one where I see a road & cars - is that the entire “vehicle” camping area? -Just want to get an idea of how close the car would be to a spot.
*And, are the port-a potties somewhere in that area, hidden by trees, or are they far, far away?
*Oh, and how far is the walk to the shuttle from your camping area?
THANKS!!!

Basically, while I’m prepared to do a lot of walking at the fest, I gotta cut corners where I can, because of old leg injuries. If anyone thinks another campground would be better suited for that, I’m all ears. But Ilium sounds nice - car nearby, and I wouldn’t mind a long shuttle ride to take in some scenery & people.
This’ll be my 2nd trek to Telluride - - in 2007, I just went for 2 days - drove in from Denver one morn, then slept in the car at the Mtn Village parking garage. Ha ;D That trip was life-changing  Oh, but the altitude for this out-of-shape Floridian was something else!!!

Howdy!

In the area where I camped, which is about as far out as you can be, I’d say its maybe 1/5th - 1/4 of a mile to the shuttle stop, maybe more, flat except for right at the entrance. If you got to Telluride earlier (we arrived after midnight on Wed night/Thurs morn) you could do better as far as getting a closer site. I kind of like being in this area, though. Very social.

As far as I could tell, the in-camp parking just worked itself out. There are many more intimate nooks in Ilium, and if you were in one of those areas, that’s where you’d park. Your vehcile could be right in your camp in that scenario. To my recollection, the area where I camped was the biggest, most open area. In this area, you parked your vehicle along that “road”.

If you zoom this pic you can see a row of porta-potties, green with white roofs, on the left-hand side of the road between the two prominent trees at about midfield. There are more throughout the camp ground. Planet Bluegrass kept 'em clean. No small feat, that, I’m sure.

And you’re right, the shuttle is a fun ride, at least to my way of thinking.

If you’re at Ilium and come across my camp (light green canvas tent and chuck box out front) say hello! :thumbsup

man…
i cant wait to start meeting all ya people out there in big sky country!
someone said we should have some nametags with our forum names on there and i am all about it… otherwise, i think i may be wandering around illium asking, are you the freckled farmer, are you the dude… heh heh…
i’ve got a friend who may have an extra town park ticket for me, if her and her boyfriend break up before then… heh heh again, not gonna put my eggs in that basket… so i’m gonna be stayin at illium whatever the turnout for sure. it’d be nice to visit in town park though…

on another note, i was originally gonna be taking the trip by myself out there, and just last night i was able to get ahold of friend who moved to co a year or so ago, and i offered him my extra, and he was all about it. who wouldn’t be right!? so, yeh, i just cant wait…
now if i can just pass physics this semester i’ll be alright

Thanks, dude :thumbsup
