Any suggestions on what brand/make of tent to buy?

Just picked up a T4 gazelle hub - it is brilliant. Like an ice fishing shelter pod but with a velcro floor. Its 8x8 and you dont have to duck…It’s up and down in 90 secs. Cons… it’s about the size of an ez up or golf bag when packed.
Can’t wait to see it covered in aphid honeydew and TP dust.

Trying to keep things on topic, and since this was a gear thread I’ll ask here.

I need to re-tape/seal the seams on our son’s tent. It’s an MSR Hubba Hubba. The seam tape is practically gone, and it won’t be waterproof. My local outfitters are all out of stock of any seam sealers, so I have to order online. Any suggestions on brands, or styles? Pretty sure I don’t want to fool around with the tape and glue, and will for sure use some form of liquid sealer.

Hi Todd, :wave

GearAid Seam Grip is very good but relatively pricey.

For not so pricey, if you can find it at your local hardware store: Loctite Stik-n-Seal Outdoor Adhesive

Apply thin and let cure

This post made me check and a 6-pack of Stik-n-seal from Home Depot costs about the same as 1 tube of Seam Grip

I haven’t checked price in a while but I keep a tube in the box w/us and its lasted a while. I want to say it was about 10 bucks for a tube but I can attest it has worked for us in a few pinches.

Theres always flexseal tape… if for some chance you happen to cut your boat in half lol

As for the original topic of this thread… Hey psilly B
What is the verdict?
Which tent are you going with?

I have camped TBF in a Sierra Designs 4 season tent and a 3 season Kelty tent. My 4 season tent is smaller and was warmer, but the 3 season tent I use primarily for summer/fall camping in the south (TN, AR) also did just fine and its a lot more roomy. Having said that, I think the most important things you can have for the cold nights is an actual sleeping pad and a 20 degree sleeping bag. Sleeping pads have an R-value, just like insulation and they make a HUGE difference. I use an air mattress just to keep me off the ground, then the sleeping pad is between me and the air mattress. Toasty.
