What is the cost of night grass typically? We are on a tight budget planning a head. Would love to do yonder, greensky, and leftover assuming they all play and are on separate nights.
Nightgrass tix are usually $20 to $35 depending on venues and artists. FYI they are all sold through a lottery and if you don’t luck out they can be challenging to get due to smaller venues and high demand. Especially the bands you want to see!!! The last few year’s Yonder gets the Conference center on Wednesday night, it’s the largest venue and tickets are usually a little easier to come by.

Really? I HAVE to see Greensky. I’m crazy about them. Oh goodness, I hope the tickets dont go on sale at 3am my time again…I can see begging for trades coming up if that happens…goodness gracious, I’d never heard of this band three months ago but thanks to this Festival I play them every day, love them

It’s all a lottery system, so you can enter over the course of a few days when the lottery is opened up. You may still have to beg for tix if your entry doesn’t get pulled, but you’ll be able to do that at a reasonable time of day. 
Unlike festival tix, nightgrass are non-refundable. Extras shake loose on the ticket exchange board here, and on the boards in camp/at the box office the week of Festival.
The past several years, Greensky has been playing The Palm, which is a good sized venue. If that trend continues, you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting a ticket. However, if they get moved to the smaller Sheridan Opera House, expect tickets to be difficult to get. SOH holds around 200 people. It’s a really special, intimate venue. I’d absolutely rather see shows there than The Palm. I’m hoping they announce Yonder, Salmon and GSBG all at the SOH and then I will want to go to all three.
given greensky’s latest success(garcia event, red rocks co-bill etc) i would sure hope they don’t play a smaller venue!! they are one band that i instantly loved when i first heard them and that was further confirmed when i saw them for the first time last year. their new cd is killer.
Totally agree! The Palm is a great venue for them. Raged my face off the 2 years there. People are up and dancing, sound is great, and they make as pretty stiff drink there, too!

I agree . Every time I listen to Greensky I can’t believe how good they are .
I’ve seen GSBG at The Palm the last two years and while I like all of the other venues, that place is perfect for them and a good crowd. I agree, stiff drinks and damn comfortable if you want to sit way back or on the side. Plus, I kind of like the interim walk from the main stage to The Palm. If they get put in the Sheridan, etc., then whomever will have a golden ticket but good luck prying those out of someone’s hands.
In my opinion, the Sheridan is a step up from The Palm. It’s a beautiful, intimate venue. Consider that when String Cheese played the festival in 2013, their nightgrass was at The Sheridan. Yonder has always done a night at The Sheridan. Leftover Salmon played The Sheridan last year. The Punch Brothers usually play there on Sunday night. All of those bands are big names with dedicated fan bases that would easily flock to The Palm or a bigger venue.
The Palm is great. I’ve seen Salmon and The Dusters there in the past. But there’s something special about a historic, intimate venue the style of The Sheridan.
thanks HS and i get it on the opera house(good to know). i suppose the fear that’s in me of not being able to get a ticket to see greensky’s nightgrass is killing me right now. that’s my only reason i hope they play in a larger venue where there will be at least a good chance to get a ticket. i also hope they play the free stage like they have in the past…read they played all beatles song there one year. a free show would be cool as well!!

can’t wait to see what tune they pull off at the jerry tribute concert. when i saw greensky at the ogden they encored with ain’t no bread in the bread box! and killed it 
I was at the Sheridan Greensky show 3 years ago and the Palm shows the last 2. Each one better than the last. Wherever they play (assuming they do a nightgrass, their website only has them in Telluride one day :huh) it will be epic. :burn
Capacity at the Palm is 650, so not a huge venue, but 3x the peeps can get their GSMFBG on.
Once I went to see Patti Smith with Bob Dylan. I am, as they say, a Patti Smith tragic. I was sitting in the 11th row. Somehow, God help me, I literally jumped over the seats in eleven rows in less than a minute as the lights went down and I ended up squeezed against the stage. I’m saying this because the idea of “prying those tickets out of someone’s hands” seems like nothing after that. If I want to see a band I usually find a way…I like a challenge. I’m gonna see a full Greensky gig or die trying… Lottery here we come, let’s do this peeps. :cheers

CORRECT! I cannot wait to see them though I must say I’m also loving Rhiannan, the Basement Tapes CD is fantastic, come on June!
