We’ll be rolling in Tuesday the 15th and are so grateful for all the information and fun we’ve found on the forum. As Newbies, we’ll follow the sage advice and find Tom… or Auntie Hope, or Hooch (altho I’ll just say right now, I’m a-skeered to learn about Crunchy Frog!), or RonNDeb, or some of the many others who’ve created such a friendly happy space to show us the lay of the land.
River is as full as last twenty years. All that Snirt melts quickly and a week of warm days and nights. Balloon glow Sat 5th at dark on Colorado Ave. not to be missed if you’re around, or even a square. Enjoy the Juans, clean up your mess, and Love your neighbors. :thumbsup
Just for your info just got back in from my 2nd soak…neener neener!
gonna play a round of poker and have another one …
oh and guys its freaking warm here …lets see how that playes out?
Trailer loaded and part of the truck. :thumbsup
Only have last minute overnight bag with meds, shampoo and a couple days clothing to load up tomorrow morning.
Fill the ice chest and I’m gone.
Ron, see you about 10:30 or so. :wave
How am I supposed to focus on preparations today while I eagerly await news from Town Park on the results of ABGAT? We did find someone to hit the office at 9AM this morning…an ABGAT virgin, so the ponytailed Mexican is supposed to “show her the ropes” (I hope he doesn’t get confused about what I meant when I said that!)
:huh :huh :huh
Oh well…I better go clean out the truck, put the rocket box and bike rack on, replace the flat on the trailer, and start getting my butt in GEAR! 3 days to get ready, then we :drive
Someday in the future, people will just :abduct and poof they’ll be there!
JEFF!! I wish I could ABGAT this year, seems like we really need it. I just (wednesday) closed on a small business purchase and simply can not get away. I did speak with Daniel, and he thought he would make it on Sunday, but I also saw that we might have an alternative plan… We will arrive with the landrush on Saturday. Hope to be there early in the AM, but maybe not till afternoon. Please keep yer eyes peeled for a Vehicle Pass for us. Sounds Like Sutton will be in a few days early, but not this weekend.
Saw Ron, Tom, Kenny, and others on Saturday. Then some others pulling in as I left yesterday. It was really warm Saturday night. Didn’t even need to put on socks or a sweatshirt.
Heard on the way out of town that on Saturday the river matched it’s daily high level last set in 1958. Yes that water is high and running fast!
Saw the Balloon Glow on Main St. on Saturday night. Now all the ABQ’ers might have been old hat at it, but it was pretty cool to me. Those balloons just towered over the buildings. Missed the lift off Sunday 6.15ish morning.
Looks like it is painting season in San Miguel as all the roads are getting a nice fresh coat of paint on the lines to help keep ya between 'em.
For those coming in through Montrose from the east on 50. There is now a sign a bit before town that directs you to go North to get to 550 South. Apparently the town swapped main street for a portion of road a few blocks north so 50 now ‘officially’ goes north a few blocks before meeting up to the 550 junction. Just ignore the sign and go through downtown like normal.
Forget who asked about wifi, but the Cornerhouse (with new owners and menu that is more ‘fun’ drink oriented. Still with tots) has it for free. Code is posted on the wall by the end of the bar when you walk in.
Didnt seem as many mosquitoes so much as flying ants for bugs.
