A lil' hint or whisper?

I knew you were holding out! But that’s what we all love about you! :cheers

Great additions Planet! Really excited about Houndmouth. Strongly influenced by The Band and John Prine (coincidence?) and man that Katie Toupin has killer solo vocals. The first time I heard Penitentiary I thought I was listening to The Band. Anyway, give em a listen before June, they put on a good show, albeit short, so FESTIVAL is perfect for them.

Since I’m just about to post the complete single-day lineup, I thought I’d mention our last 2 additions - both solo sets…

This beloved Telluride musician is going to open the Friday morning with a solo set, John Hartford-style…

And this one gives us goosebumps just thinking about it…

We’re incredibly excited to welcome one of the great songwriters of his generation back to Telluride for a magical solo acoustic set on the Saturday evening…

And in addition to these full sets, we’re also thrilled to share 2 special guests who will be joining us during the Festival:

  • The legendary John Cowan will be in Telluride all weekend as a special guest artist
  • Nicki Bluhm will be joining The Infamous Stringdusters as a featured guest

Ryan Adams solo acoustic sounds excellent! I saw him last summer for the first time since his 2008 TBF slot and I was very pleased. He put on a great show. This should be pretty damn cool.

OMG….Ryan Adams! When I saw the Austin City set posted on the FB page, I hoped and hoped it was a sign. I’m simply blown away!!! Woohoo!!! Thank you, Planet Bluegrass!!!

Excellent and yep Ive got goosebumps no kidding… Ryan is the epitome of what an Artist exemplifies. Gifted any way you slice it! And Hope don’t be so hard on him. So he did show he can be temperamental, we all can be but were not judged by thousands. Give em a break Hope.
But alas now I feel a tad sad cause, I’m not going this year…

I deleted my post, in case you hadn’t noticed Miki.

Solo acoustic set. I’m sure if it’s not an acoustic guitar Adams will not be let on stage.

I have faith he’ll start with an apology and show us what Dustin wanted us to see in 2008.

:wave Hi Hope, love you but respectfully disagree. You’ll see he is packed with emotion and it carries through his entire being. Strap me in and let em drive!!! Now I want to go more then ever. Epic do over!

I have to add one thing. Brian when there is a solo act on that huge stage I would love to see you pull in the stage like that video of Ryan with a table and a chair and a plant, like a living room jam. They all look so alone on that huge stage. Just a suggestion.

Yes, like others still getting over that 2008 Ryan Adams show. Ugh, I was so excited and then so totally disappointed. I have seen him a couple of times since then, all acoustic, and they have all been great shows. Optimistic he will bring A game this time.

If people recall, Ryan Adams quit music for a while after his 2008 show. I believe he was burnt out and needed some time to recover. From what I can tell, he worked out his demons and has remembered why he loves making music, because the show I saw last summer was simply incredible. He was so full of life and energy and it really showed in his performance. I’m really excited to get to see him back at TBF.

Ryan Adams was diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease a while back……a crazy hearing (tinnitus) and balance disorder that I actually suffer from myself. In his case, the lights from his shows would trigger episodes of extreme vertigo which made performing quite difficult. He stopped playing for a long time and worked on trying to get healthy. It’s been such a wonderful comeback for him. I saw him in Charleston, SC last year with his entire band and it was just an incredible show. I’m sooooo looking forward to his set at Telluride!

Excellent suggestion! Let’s see what they can do with the new stage x

Just an observation I sure am no expert. Glad you are making a come back. :medal

Every aspect of this Fest is fascinating, down to the announcement of the guest Artist and the back drop. I want to do the back drop. I have this outstanding idea. See we all are so much apart of this great Fest and we pay attention to all the effort and different aspects that have to be considered. I wonder why Ferg is giving Ryan a redo. I think that shows to go you he is a person with an open mind and if what I just read about his hearing is true Bravo for not calling the kettle black Ferg. See open minded, ya never know what the entire story is until you hear the entire story.

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

I wonder who and what it is this year?

LOVE THIS

:clap :hop :hop :clap

Being a Michigan transplant, y’all nailed it with De Temps Antan. I’ve heard them at least twice at the best festival in Michigan (Happy Wheatland!). They are so high energy and they make my smile crack wide open. I am so looking forward to hear them again! Thanks PB.

indeed greg_from_aa

high energy music that makes you grin from ear to ear. i totally get that to!!
their set will rock the fest!

Personally, I’m hoping for an appearance by the Travelin McCourys either at FirstGrass or, better yet, a NightGrass slot at the old Elks Club (if they’d fit). They’re playing some outstanding music these days, such as this Dead cover of “Loser”:
