There are a few details on the Ticketing link on the PB website.
Also Planet Bluegrass Facebook page has made a couple of related posts and are fielding a some questions over there. TP tix supposedly will still be a random lottery of sorts, but handled by the 3rd party. Ticket on sale dates are to be announced on Fri.
They are announcing dates and stuff Friday and more info/details will be forthcoming. I’m holding off on unrestrained panic for a little while. Most of us regulars have enough people watching our backs that I presume it will shake out to be our usual “You didn’t get a ticket?? I got you a ticket!” situation…presuming we can all buy more than 1 or 2 passes when it’s our turn in the queue. Stuff changes. Let’s keep the vibe the same!
Yeah, I’m keeping the faith too, I trust PB. But admit to feeling a bit sad. I go to lots of festivals, this one with the quirky little lotteries is definitely the best. Don’t stop believing
Same here, I’m staying optimistic for now. We will know more soon.
Once facial recognition goes online, they could easily setup a “festivarian social credit score system” akin to China:
The higher your score, the better your number will be for tarp runs. Let strangers sit on your tarp, you get more points. Have more than one beer in your hands while walking more points (unless you’re double fisting). Tall person scoots behind shorter person, more points. Smoking in a crowd gets you dinged. Likewise for pushing and showtalking. Etc.
Personally, I think my “score” would be exceptional … but who knows :lol
Some might laugh, but might it not be because there’s an element of truth in what I’m saying? Just like driver assisted technology, this is a one way street & the frog WILL boil in water … it’s just a matter of time! Again, I repeat, the frog WILL boil in water. Why even open the door?
Your train has clearly left the station
As long as they start doing drone beer delivery, I’m in.
FoM LOL!!! I am not at all for tracking where I am during the festival…but I can get competitive about those points.
I miss the good ol’ 3 x 5" index cards mailed in. At least them we could get creative and decorate them so they would catch the eye of the person divvying out the TP tickets. THAT was time well spent, unlike sitting on hold. Maybe we should have a ‘selfe pic’ competition for everyone on hold. Post you funniest/unique selfie while on hold for tickets. Winner with the most likes gets a Crunchy Frog.
I too will stay optimistic… Hoping to make it for my 21st year.
:thumbsup Good one BDog! :lol I’m hoping they can keep me informed on my heart rate, oxygen, and THC levels @ Festivaaal! elevation, as well. :festival (is this FestiMoji obsolete?)
I’m on board for measuring our THC levels! :pipe
mine are HIGH from the minute I get into town lol
SAAAAME. Except this year I’m wating until I get to Colorado to have anything anywhere near me. Don’t need a repeat of last year… :cheers
Town Park and Warner Field camping go on-sale at 9AM MST on Wednesday, December 11, 2019.
All remaining Telluride Bluegrass Festival tickets go on-sale at 9AM MST on Thursday, December 12, 2019.
Arg! We will be on our way – on a plane – to Strings & Sol! What to do – there must be others in this predicament. What’s the solution?
I’d much rather put in and not get selected in a lottery, than wait possibly hours in an online queue where I still might not get selected or get tickets.

even if we miss out, we’ve got 6 months to find TP tickets. I am not too worried. I have never actually gotten TP through the lottery anyway, so I don’t see much of a difference.
Tickets go on sale at 3am here on 12th December. It’s a working day and going to be very hard I suspect. Good luck festivarians

Wow Lesley - that’s rough! Certainly one of the biggest downsides of moving away from a lottery based system is that people have to be in front of a device when the sale happens. Pretty unfortunate for folks who are overseas, working, traveling, or otherwise unable to dedicate a few hours to this process.
I am wondering about the queue. If you log in an hour early, you’re in line . . . but presumably don’t have to be in front of screen till 9 a.m. Then, how do you know when you’re up? Does screen automatically change to one of the other screens? And then the timer starts, or maybe not till order is up for charge. Correct?

If you look at the last picture, there’s a pre queue which I would imagine you wait at until 9am when presumably it would switch to the actual queue where it will show you your place in line and the estimated wait.
