Wow, great idea! I hit jazz Fest every year, and FINALLY made it over to the Thursday night BBQ at Vaughn’s for Kermit (he plays AND provides the BBQ!) I’ll never miss THAT again!
But let’s bump up this a bit and ask for the HOTTEST New Orlean’s musician: Trombone Shorty! What a show this guy puts on!!!
And I got to see Neil Young blast off his tour here in Albq on friday night. Just 2 acoustic songs, the rest was LOUD rock and roll, and very GOOD rock and roll. He looks great - lost about 20 pounds from 3 years ago. Sounded great, too. No lightt show, no theatrics, just LOTS of new songs (not from the new album - newer than that!) Funniest thing: he forgot half the words to the Needle and the Damage Done.
Yep to all the above. Darrell Scott for sure (great idea Sugar) Hey the “Boomchicks” with the guys in drag would be fun. John Hiatt is always nice at Telluride! And Del McCoury and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band would be a hoot. Hey John, we are going to Jazz Fest this year for the first time…I would love to pick your brain on places see and people to do! :pirate
:wave I think the stage is huge and it can swallow certain people if they are not big enough, in sound. Just my opinion… what I miss is that one sort of off beat, does not quite fit in set that makes the entire crowd come to a screeeaching hault , just to take a close listen. Got two lil words for ya Ferg :lolDweezel Zappa :lol Band Of Joy :medal
Yo Huck! :wave I did see that they played The Boulder Theater as of lately. Did you check em out? If so tell me more…curios. I really think that Zappa was really brilliant and I must admit I donot like his music without the lyric. IMO. :flower
Couldn’t we see what Guinness says is the world’s record for number of people in a bluegrass band, then beat it some morning? Everyone drags their instruments out to the field for a big rendition of Shady Grove, or Howl at the Moon, or Mr. Soundman Turn Me Up Loud, or Ooops I Did it Again, or…
OK, we’ll have to agree that not EVERYONE will get a lead break!
One Problem: if we became a big hit, our tour bus would have to be enormous!
I say we wow em with our snappy outfits, smoke and big hair! Lets ROCKKKKKKKK! Tuning :huh, 5000 in tune :flower.
That would be so flippin off the charts :medal Guinness Book of World Record ish :lol never happen, but fun to think about.
I will kick it off by voting we all wear leather pants :lol :lol
I’m so glad it’s Friday :lol :wave
Bob Dylan has to be on the top of my list to see next. I really like his new stuff. No one will ever be like him, he is so unique and his writing is just really special. Direct. I like em :flower
I did go that night, and it was awesome. There’s nobody having more fun on stage than Napoleon Murphy Brock, and the new guitar player (name is eluding me) is amazing. Great night…the music was just so powerful…I want to do it again soon!
They sang, they laughed, they shamelessly self-promoted…a little too much of the latter, but that’s because NMB is totally passionate about Frank’s music, and wants new fans to get to experience it.
Totally worth the money. In fact, I’ll boldly, in front of this crowd, say it’s the best concert I’ve been to this year.
